Alergic Reaction?

I just moved and haven't found a new vet yet, so wondering if anyone might be able to help! My cat is about 7 years old and she has scratched all the hair above her eyes almost completely off. She did this a week ago, and I tried getting some benadryl into her which wasn't very successful, but she finally stopped scratching and the hair was starting to regrow. This morning I found that she had done it again. When we moved I had to change her food, as my new location doesn't sell what she used to eat. Could this be an allergy to her new food? She is always indoors, but we are in the country and have bugs that do make it into the house, however we don't see any signs of a bug bite. Any thoughts?

Since something is wrong with your kitty and you don't know what it is, you should take her to the vet. It doesn't sound like a food allergy to me, but I don't know what the cause would be. Self medicating her could be dangerous.
