I've noticed in the last few days that Tig (he's the same one with the flea dirt/feline acne) has black stuff in his nostril -- one nostril in particular. We wiped it with a damp Q tip and managed to coax it out -- that was Monday, by last night we had to repeat. It comes out like a solid plug. I wondered if it's dust from the litter, but it's not powdery particles, it's more like a bit of organic matter. However, all the plants are outside this week so it's not that...any ideas?

My one kitty had that and other symptoms so the vet treated him for an upper respiratpry tract infection. It is now all cleared up.

My baby Patch is going through that right now. It's an upper respiratory infection. He also had symptoms of sneezing a lot and some discharge in his eyes. He's been on the meds now for three days and it's beginning to clear up. He's stopped sneezing all the time and the black stuff isn't showing up as much in his nose and eyes. You should take him to the vet to get him checked out, especially if you have more than one cat. Hope it all works out for you and Kitty.
