Sooooo I get a call at 9pm last night. It was my vet's assistant...and she says we have FIVE 6-week old kittens and a momma cat here. (Of course, I'm the first one she calls!) They were left outside the office IN A CARDBOARD BOX IN THE RAIN! There's some heartless people out there I swear...but atleast they left them at the right place.

So anyway, of course, I ran out of the house and up to the office and here's what I saw:
2 tabbies
1 all black
1 all grey
and one gray and white, very similar to Cody!

All are in great health, playful and hungry as lions!!

SOOOOOO....some of you may have read about my dilemma...I've been thinking about getting Cody a brother or sister. But Cody is a stinker and I just don't know if she'll allow a new addition. I don't know what to do!!!!! I want to give one a home but I don't want to tick Cody off (we've had bathroom problems before) and make her hate me. UGH, what to do?!?

Oh thats a sign if ever i saw one!.

Well you know what my thoughts are!. With a little patience and love i'd say Cody will learn to love her just like Rosie did with Sophie!

My girls' story is VERY similar to Rosie and Sophie's story. I agree with Susan: go for it!!!

Speaking of someone who has had kitty potty problems in the past, I understand your fear. I held my breath every time I took a new kitty in. You are already prepared for what can happen so the rest will be easy. Go with your gut feeling .
Miss Cody will adjust if you decide she needs a brother or sister

Thanks guys! As if it wasn't bad enough, now there are 2 more!!!

That makes a total of SEVEN kittens! They have already found homes for the mama cat and 2 kittens...just need to find 5 more now.

I will be doing some heavy thinking tonight. I may even go pick up a kitten to see how Cody would react. Is that a good idea?

After they get their vaccinations, and are declared safe, maybe you could foster a handful. That will give you a very good idea of how she takes to newcomers. And if you start with 5, and end up keeping one, she will be so relieved to only have one, maybe she will like it more. And you can pick the sweetest baby to keep.

Don't you love the logic of a foster Mom?

Yeah, I was thinking like Beckiboo. What if you just fostered 1 -2 of them to see how it would work out? You can stop looking for homes when you make your decision.

Kittens are also easier to introduce to adult cats than another adult cat.

Yeah, I'm thinking that way too...she might take to a baby. But there's no way my bf would go for fostering...he knows I would NEVER be able to give them up!!!

Yeah!, go on!!
Just don't let her see the kitten straight away, read up on the intros here first to break her in gently with it
