Why is it that when you have something that you don't want to lose (or have kitties steal) you put it in a safe place and then never remember where that safe place was?!!

I got a big knitting safety pin from my sister two weeks ago and remember coming home and decided to put it in a safe place! Today, now that I need it, I have looed everywhere I consider to be a safe place and no luck! Where is it?! There must be a black hole in my house somewhere!!

The thing that really makes me laugh, is that I remember saying to myself 'I'll put it here so that I won't lose it!'

Don't you hate it when this happens?!

Been there many times Sarah!. And you know when whatever it is your looking for is in a place where you just looked 20 minutes earlier?, they say the angels are playing games with you and hiding it!

Too true, Susan!

I wish the angels would choose to hide something else, like my washing and ironing!

Sarah, either the angels are playing games or the tequila is starting to take its toll!

I do things like this all the time! Yet I seem to have so many "safe" hiding places that I forget what I put where...

A good idea though, is to have a junk drawer - I have one in my bedroom and anything that has no place elsewhere I just chuck it in there - and that includes things that I need to put away for safe keeping cos then I know that most of the time I will be able to find it again!

I was thinking about this - maybe the answer is to have ONE drawer that is a 'safe place' and everything in there that you need to remember. Of course, it would get full very quickly. I have several things right now that are missing and I know I put them somewhere!

Oh, yeah, I do it all the time. I am finding an amazing amount of things in my packing to move. I got a really good deal on a pair of Doc Marten boots at the beginning of the summer, and found only one of them when I wanted to wear them. I found them in Pearl's old hidey spot when I was cleaning. I think my kitties steal stuff and try to make me think I lost it.

That sounds about right!

The junk draw is a great idea, but I have too many already!
I even have a plastic bag containing my junk drawer from the flat!

I might get a little notebook and write down where I put things for 'safe keeping' that way I should be able to find them - unless I put the book in a safe place!
*sigh*

I'm still looking for a black tank top I haven't seen it since last summer!!!!!
I'm horrible on misplacing stuff. I even accused my sister earlier this yr of taking one of my fav shirts. Turns out this spring I when I went to put on a sweatshirt-the shirt was stuck inside!!!! Yikes and I blamed my sister for months-DH still brings up to me when I can't find anything.
