So does anyone's cat ever sleep
so crazy
(like in a weird position) you think they might be dead? i know that sounds weird. but earlier this morning i woke up and my cat sleeps next to me and there are times his body position is so weird, right when i wake up i freak out and think hes dead! lol like i killed him in my sleep! like i rolled over on him or something. then i shake him or kinda move him, and sure enough he kinda wakes up...but hes like on his back all twisted like the way my dog sleeps! lol it just freaks me out sometimes! its funny sometimes, but man earlier this mornign i was freaked out for a good 20 seconds!

My kitten sleeps in some really funny positions, but I know she is alright. She's done other stuff that freaked me out though. One time when she was on my lap she seemed like she was choking. I was ready to take her to the animal ER. She stopped as suddenly as she started and it hasn't happened since. Another time, when she was sleeping I thought she was having a mild seizure. Turns out she was just dreaming (probably about chasing birds, lol). I think that since we love our kitties so much we sometimes worry about them too much.

Once after boarding a cat, she was back at the house - fast asleep. The more I stared at her the more convinced I was that she had stopped breathing. I called her - nothing. I yelled - nothing. I went over picked her leg up and let go - it dropped like a dead weight. I SCREAMED - she cracked on eye open - gave me a "Why are you bothering me look" and went right back to sleep.

I know, it is SCARY when they sleep like that. It happened with Mik once... I swear I thought he was dead and I started hyperventilating... then he opens an eye.

my cat takes it a bit further and doesnt wake when i shake her. so she was laying in my blanket and i was trying to get her to wake up for a good mintue and she didnt want to wake up. she was perfectly fine, shes just so tolerant that you can pick her up and shell stay almost asleep.

OMG i thought i was the only one this happened too, sometimes pandy breathes so shallow it looks like she isn't and her eye will be half open, a few times iv'e thought she's gone and iv'e called her name, lifted her leg etc then she will open an eye and give me this annoyed look as if to say 'just let me sleep in peace', it's so dumb but at the time she just looks so still and then i feel like a moron when she wakes up

Mine often sleep in that weird position with all paws in the air. Ellie sometimes scares me thought - she really looks like she has given up the ghost.

Ellie looks the same as Guin when he's asleep!

He is sometimes in such a deep sleep that when I stroke him or call him he takes some time to wake up - that scares me because he is so out of it!

The only time he has to be careful is when he's on the end of the bed asleep and I forget... so in the middle of the night I pull my duvet really fast to cover me up then suddenly,
THUD! Guin's been thrown off of the bed....

and I thought I was the only person that does this!

I'm always checking my cats when they are sleeping. I'm paranoid about it - somehow I convince myself that they will just stop breathing (why? I have no clue... I think I am just an overanxious mommy) - if their breathing is very shallow, I try to wake them up. All they do is give me the 'evil eye' and go back to sleep.

Snickers sleeps with his hands curled overtop of his face and nose. Dunno how he breathes, really.

Hammie bends himself backwards --- all the way backwards... and sleeps in a C shape!

And, Miss Jessie is sort of known for sleeping under beds... however, she lets her butt hang out! You walk into the room, and see the back-half of a cat sticking out, very very still.

I'm also guilty of checking to make sure my babies are alive... I'll wake them up just to be sure... but hey, they wake *me* up every single morning so we're even.

The other night I woke up at about 3am and there was my son (7) curled up at the end of the bed and Ginger stretched out as long as she would go, head resting on "his" pillow.
Rolled my eyes and went back to sleep

Quite a few times my Skye kitty has given me a scare. She will be lying there with me not moving at all and I will check on her. She will be completly limp so I will say her name Skye, SKYE! and still nothing. Then I will move her face and it just drops back down. After this I started freaking so I picked her up, STILL LIMP in my arms and shook her slightly. My heart started beating so quick.
Finally she woke up and I was relieved. I told her not to scare mommy like that again!
She is in such a deep sleep she just goes all limp.

My little girl sleeps with her eyes open sometimes, that is really freaky. I showed it to my hubby and he said she's not sleeping. But i waved my hand and she did not react (she always reacts when she's awake). It is so freaky, sometimes I will stand (not to disturb her in her sleep) and see if she's breathing. Scares the hell out of me.
