My Kitty Is Mad At Me

Any advice would be helpful... My kittens had thier second round of shots today. The first time they were dewormed and had thier ears washed (ear mites). This time they had to redo the ears and now Betty is super mad at me and won't come near me. She even hissed at me. It's been four hours since we got home. How do I turn her back into my lovebug?

She will come arund. Actually, cats do not actually get angry at us per se. It is not how they think (even tho we do like to anthropomorphise them). She associates you with something she did not like so voila, she is being cautious. Often, it's good to offer treats after activities that are not the most fun for kitties - like vet visits. Then they learn it's not all bad and they look forward to the treat. Give her lots of TLC and she'll be playing and purring with you in no time.

She'll be fine with you once you fuss over her

Uncanny how pets will do that. She isn't mad at you --- she's just associating that visit with you "right now", but once she's been home for a tad & forgets... she'll be loving with ya again.

Whenever my cats have gone to the Vet, they sort of give me this leery look for a few hours. Then they're back to being my hunnies.
