What digital camera do you use that takes great pictures of cats, small objects (good closeups) and is easy to use?

Any digital camera that you would say 'Stay away!' from?

I like Canons. We use a Powershot G8 here at work but they are awfully expensive...I have a Powershot A75 3.2mp and it takes beautiful photos! They're now up to 6.5 mp but there's not much difference between the two.
Here's some photos that I've shot...and this was just with the automatic setting. My digital photography teachers in college also recommended the Canons. Hope this helps!

I have a Panasonic Lumix that I'm STILL learning all the toots and whistles of! If you really want to compare digital cameras, I highly recommend dpreview.com . There are options where you can pick out the particular cameras you are interested in and view them side-by-side for comparison. Very handy.

I use a Kodak CX4300 that has 3.2 mp. it is a discontinued model but the followons are better. I got this one as a display model last year at Wal-Mart for 100 down from about 185 and I love it. It works great and for snapshot photography it is more than adaquate.

I have a Canon PowerShot A95 (5.0 megapixels) this is brand new and I love it!

It has automatic modes and functions and effects, but can also function entirely as a manual camera, which I sort of love.

I have the Sony Cybershot 3.2 megapixels, it's the first digital camera that I have ever owned and I like it. My son has the 5 megapixels version, but I think he told me he snaps his pics in 3 megapixel mode.

I am still working on my photography skills... but here's one of Santa Claus riding Sister from last Christmas. Sister was NOT amused!

When I get a new camera it's going to be a Nikon D70 or D100, or a Canon EOS Digital Rebel. They're in the middle--in both quality and price--of a normal point and shoot digital camera and an advanced professional camera. I browse Flickr a lot, and everytime I see a picture and think "wow, what kind of camera is THAT?!" it's always one of those. (Mostly the Nikon.) Hands down, they take the best pictures I've ever seen! Of course, there are other things I don't know about that are important to me, like how fast the shutter speed is (I like it to be really fast because usually I'm trying to get a cute picture of Cupid and I don't want to miss anything), how long it takes to load (mine is too slow, how loud it is (mine has too many beeps and sounds when it's loading and it wakes Cupid up sometimes), and how easy it is to take professional quality pictures (i.e. I just want to click the button).

But honestly, with pictures like those, I don't really care!

Here's a picture taken with the D70 that I was impressed with.

I just got a SOny Cybershot 5.1 megapixel about 3 weeks ago and its is really great. Lots of stuff to learn on it. Mom has a Kodak Easyshare 6 or 7 pixel but want I didn't like on hers is she has this button/joystick to navigate about and with her arthritis I found it difficult to move compared to mine. She does have a larger viewscreen than mine. Would upload pix except I'm having computer problems at home at this time.
I got mine from Sears-they will match prices but were the same price as Circuit City

I have a Sony cybershot 5.0 Model #Dsc - F707. I love it! Please don't judge it by the quality of my pics on here - I change them to "Web-ready" and downsize them so I don't make the TCS server explode. If you want to see some exmples, just PM me!

Mine is a Nikon Coolpix 4600. It has red eye reduction, 4.0 megapixels and 3x zoom. It is the first digi camera that I have owned and I must say I am very impressed with it
IMO, my pictures have got better and better and I can't believe that I had a "normal" camera for so long before I bought myself this. The only thing that I don't like about it is that the battery runs out pretty fast..... But all in all

Here's a recent Guin pic I took in normal daytime in the garden. I love the way the colours on the plants look really vibrant and show up in details

I had a Canon A60 (2mp) which is a good starter camera, but after a while, as you're learning about photography, you start wanting to bash it's head in (if it had a head, anyway). It takes good pictures, though the best ones I took were outside. Inside, you get a lot of shiny eyes and some soft edges. I just got a new camera, the Olympus C-5500 (5mp). I've only had it a week, but I'm starting to figure out how to get good pictures. At first they weren't too good, since it's more advanced than the Canon A60, but now I'm figuring it out. Just to boost my confidence, I'm sticking with "AUTO" for a teeny little while, lol. It definitely takes sharper images and the action shots are so much better (that's what I was looking for, since I'm always wanting action shots)
