Can you put 2 litters of kittens together? I foster kitties and am getting another litter of kitties with no mom(there old enough) and I just wanted to know if I can place both litters together, because I don't have another room I can put them in.

My only concern is that you need to make sure that all of these kittens have been checked over by a vet and they have received their shots before you allow them to interact with each other.

Ahh yea there still too young for shots. Why what would happen if they interact without having their shots?

If any of them has a disease like distemper..it can be passed to the other kittens. I really wouldn't recommend having 2 litters that are so young in the same room...to me, that could cause disasterous results.

You can certainly cage them, but NOT IN THE SAME ROOM. You will have to create a room in your house for both litters to be "quarantined" until everyone is deemed healthy and had their shots. There are airborne viruses and other baddies that the currently resident litter could catch and become ill. Then you would have two litters of kittens, all sick. You really really really do not want that. The best thing for you to do IMO is to wait until the current litter is out before bringing in any others.

When Festie and her litter were about 8-9 weeks old, I took in Garfield and his brother Odie. My kits had been vaccinated already. Gar and Odie were vet checked, and had first vaccinations. I put them in with my kits. They were all about the same age.

Within a few days, Odie had died of distemper. Garfield was very ill, but survived (obviously, as I still have him!) And luckily my kits were vaccinated, so they just had a mild case of distemper, and all were ok after a round of meds.

Please don't put these babies together with your litter. At least quarantine them until they have had their vaccinations! If mine weren't vaccinated, I could have lost them all!

Thanks, Odie was the first foster I lost, and I had only had him for about 5 days! Then we were so consumed with worry that they would all be sick! Luckily Garfield and his mom Tigger survived. I never fostered her, but did hear that she needed blood transfusions she was so ill.

It seems fine to blend babies, and sometimes I guess you almost have to, like putting a bottle baby with another litter, but it is a risk.
