Ok, here it is:
You may have to adjust the cooking times according to your oven.

1 package crescent rolls ( or if you are making a larger pan use 2 )
1 pkg ground beef
1 bottle bbq sauce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
melted butter to baste

Brown the ground beef until cooked. Add enough bbq sauce so it is "wet but not soupy" ( usually about 3/4 bottle ). Simmer for 10 min. Add the cheese and cook on low till all melted.
In pie pan, or any round pan, break apart crescent rolls and arrange them into pan so it makes a crust. If you have a larger pan, you probably will need one whole can of rolls for the bottom and one for the top. If its a smaller pan, use 1/2 can for the bottom, 1/2 for the top.
After your crust is in, fill it with mixture ( slightly cooled is best ). Cover mixture with remaining rolls so it looks like a pie. Cut slit in top for steam to escape , and baste with melted butter.
Bake at 350 degrees until top is golden brown. In my oven, it takes about 30 min, but just watch it to be sure its not burning.

I serve it with potatoes, and a nice crusty bread. YUMMY!!

Meant to say, just like in Hissy's recipe, put the points of crescents facing inward so you can get an even bottom. If you need to trim to make it fit, that is fine. I usually do, its never a perfect fit!!!

Is you can make it ahead of time and freeze it then pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes and you have a fast, nutritious breakfast

oooooooooh, thats even better if I can freeze it!! Cool..I am excited now. I am always trying to find good breakfasts for my 5 year old in the morning. But its so rushed cause he has to catch the school bus, and usually he ends up with Cereal, oatmeal, or bagels. Those are all fine, but this sounds awesome. Thank you Hissy!!!

I just wanted to add that my family(grandma, mother, ect.) always used biscut dough for the crust. It's kinda like stew and dumplings.

Wow you guys...what great responses!

Dinner went great, thanks for all the suggestions!

I followed my basic recipe, threw a small beef roast into the crockpot with a package of Lipton Onion soup mix and water, later added chunks of potato, onion, carrot and mushrooms, even later threw in a package of frozen veggies. When the roast was tender, I broke it into bite sized pieces, and thickened it up with a bit of flour.
For the "crust" I ended up just making a basic pie pastry, I usually use mashed potato's, but this was a nice change, and it didn't get mushy like I feared it would!

It was delicious! Of course I made way too much though (as always) but thats a good thing, because there isn't much of the "pie" left, but I have lotsa stew in the crockpot!

Ok, whats for dinner tonight guys?
