I have a cat that recently had babies about 6 weeks ago or so... At the beginning of her pregnancy I was feeding her dry food in the morning and wet food at night. Well as her pregnancy progressed I started giving her less dry food and more wet food.. Now she sits and meows at me until I give her some wet food. ( I went back to once a day) She will wake my up in the middle of the night. Anything to get me to give her that wet food. Well I have had enough and just start putting dry food in her bowl. But she won't touch it.. Is there and easy way to solve this problem? I know it's my fault I guess I got a little wet food happy!! :]
Thanks for you help.

I totally agree. Feed her more, feed her more often, and leave dry kitten chow down for her!
If she likes her canned food, I would just give it 2-3 times a day. Seriously, you are currently feeding her and the whole litter-if I was her, I'd wake you at night for more food, too!

Soon, the babies will be eating her food, too, and that will ease the load of her nursing for all their nutrition, but she will still need to eat quite a bit.

Sugartoes' kittens were gone over 2 weeks ago, then she got spayed. I cannot tell you how skinny she looked after the surgery. Poor little sprite, there was nothing to her. She is still thin, but starting to regain the weight. I'm still giving her kitten chow (available all day) supplemented with canned food once a day. Don't worry about spoiling her at this point, you can get her back to dry food after she is spayed and recovers from the nursing. Remember, pregnancy and nursing takes a lot of energy.

Your kitty probably is telling you to increase her food as after her litter was born she needs to get her energy back while she is nursing her kittens as she is using alot of energy taking care of them. Just feed her whenever she needs it. I'm sure in time she will not do it so often. Just think of a new motherly cat like a woman who just had a baby. They need food and having cravings. Its probably hormonal. She needs love and attention and it can be an hard I know but she's gone through alot having those kittens and needs some TLC.

Thank you all for your help. I never thought of it that way. Now it makes a lot more sense why she is constantly whining to me! I will defintly give her all the food she wants and not worry about spoiling her.!
Thanks again for all your help.
