Well my worst time of the year is almost upon me-hayfever time.
Plus I caught a cold last week and had a crummy weekend due to sneezing, headaches and all the joys of a cold.
So if you have allergies-what works good for you??

I have the worst allergies! Allegra is the only thing I can take right now that doesn't put me to sleep - Allegra D is fine as a decongestant as long as I'm busy with something, otherwise it makes me hyper and very uncomfortable. Good luck with yours!

I've been taking FLONASE all summer and it WAS working great. Today I feel like my head is going to burst and I'm all stuffed up. It's just been so muggy here...the humidity is awful! But yeah, my allergies are really acting up and nothing is helping!

Me (except mine are to dust and mould, so they bug me all year round
) - I take an Aerius once a day and it really helps.

Sometimes my head feels like one of those bobble-head dolls!!
I can take sudafed, my allegra, aspirin and lots of liquids and still feel crummy.
I did get a prescription for eye drops-REALLY Expensive though the bottle looks like it holds a teaspoon of liquid and I still had to pay $25.

I hear ya sister! NOTHING helps except staying locked indoors in air conditioning! And how much fun is that?! ZIPPO! I just heard on the news that allergies are REALLY bad now...usually it's the spring that kills me...not the summer!!

I take Zyrtec and Singulair, but last week I thought my head was going to explode from a sinus headache. It's a little better this week.

Flonase is about all that even puts a dent in mine. Mainly I stay inside in the air conditioning and manage my alergies somewhat through diet. When it's really bad, I wind up giving up all sugar. Watermelon is also a no-no as it is related to ragweed.

I am dreading this spring/summer coz with being pregnant I can't take any of the usual stuff.
The most my doc is feeling comfortable with is something called Flixonase and only when it gets really bad. So I am stuck with a saline nasal spray and saline eye drops. At least they do give some relief with dryness and scratchiness and maybe I will be lucky this year and not have bad allergies...

I have terrible hayfever.
I used to use all the expensive anti-histamines that never seemed to work (or they would work for a week or two, and then stop).
I then discovered that the cheapest anti-histimine the chemist had (Allergex) worked the best!

Want to talk bad allergies?

My girlfriend is allergic to:
Sugar
Vinegar
Wheat
Flour
Food colouring
Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Soy
All forms of dairy
Strawberries
Grapes
Peanuts
Pet dander
Ragweed
Grass
Mold
Dust
... and the list goes on. The list of FOODS and INGREDIENTS ALONE is 3 pages of very small print. All of these cause her painful (and in some cases lifethreatening) reactions.

I'm... kind of allergic to oranges. And dairy is kind of bad. But that's it. :p

Wow that is quite the list! I have some food allergies and am definitely allergic to alcohol. But my worst is:

All types of grass
Most trees except for pine and something else that eludes me atm
Very many flowers

Oh and dogs...not too sad about that one tho.

Hubby always jokes that I am the perfect candidate for a space station.

If you are pregnant-try this if your eyes are itchy. I cool washcloth over your eyes.
I have fallen asleep this way many times. But sometimes because our cats are inside/outside they pick up the pollen and bring it in on their fur and onto the bed!!
Today-ears plugged not too much coughing, headache ok but I know still stuffed up!!
Good side effect-Sudafed kills my appetite!!

Gail, mine's gotten worse too! When I was at the doc's last week, she thought I might be getting a sinus infection...and sure enough, this morning I feel horrible. And the Flonase was no longer working! So I called her and they're calling me in an antibiotic. Can you ask you doc for something that may help you? Not sure where you live, but it's just getting worse here!!

I have allergies, too. They're pretty much year-round (molds, pollen, grass, trees), but the worst in the fall. They've definitely been gearing up lately.

My doctor put me on Singulair several months ago, and it seems to work better than anything else so far. Nothing's a complete cure for me, though.

I have some food and weird allergies, too. The strangest are avocados, Sofitel hotels (must be some kind of cleaner they use) and corn silk (not the whole corn...just the silk). I have a pair of sandals that I recently bought that make my feet react as if they're made out of corn silk...I can't figure out what the deal is there.

I never had allergies at all until I moved to TN - then I developed the hayfever my mother had always complained of, but cottonwoods were the only thing that really got me.

Now, though, the thing that's killing me is the smoke from the wildfires around here!! So much haze i could hardly see the mtn peaks, and my head is about to burst!!!!!

I take Allegra. It's pretty good for me. I can't stand benadryl. I remember being in high school and having to tell my teachers that I had taken some because it was SO hard for me to stay alert in class.

I'm also allergic to odd things. Certain metals, certain types of food, bees, etc. I'm also allergic to some antibiotic. My dr put me on it to help me get my skin under control. I ended up with hives everywhere. It was worse than the pimples!!!

I know for a fact that I'm allergic to molds, but I haven't been tested for anything else yet. I do believe that I'm allergic to my kits and that I have seasonal allergies. Pollen and ragweed season drive me insane- my dad and brother both have diagnosed allergies to those. I plan on getting the full allergy test after I get my financial aid check from school.

I take clarinex and singulair. The Singulair doubles as an asthma medicine- for which I also take proventil as needed. Cigarette smoke, dust, ozone, and mold all set off my asthma. My symtoms usually involve itching, watery eyes, sneezing, sinus problems, lots of post-nasal drip, and the ever-exciting asthma attack.
