Probably 68 degrees farenheit to 80 degrees. Most cats seem to enjoy the heat rather than the cold.

Not my cats! My two will sprawl out on their backs in front of the air conditioning vent if the house gets over about 75degrees F!! It is just like that dog on the Sierra Mist commercial! It is so funny to watch them!! They point thier butts at the vent so that the air flows up their belly to their chins! Too Cute!!

A good rule of thumb with most all housepets is that if you're comfortable in short sleeves, they probably are as well.

Thanks for your replies. I don't want them to over heat. I keep the house at 70 and they tend to find sun spots and stretch out there. But then they'll go and lie down in the tub, on the sink or on top of the toilet. I though maybe 70 is too hot for them.

Well thanks again,

Katie.

I keep it 75-80. My roommate had to buy a window a/c unit for his room because he can't stand it. I've gotten used to it.

Poodle loves a warm house, even in the middle of summer! She'll sleep on top of the computer moniter or heating vents if she feels it's too cold inside. (It's pretty cute!

All of your fur babies give you a clue. Some lie righ in front of the a/c and some curl up on top of the computer monitor. Mine are sending me mixed signals. Sometimes they're right there on hot sunny spots and then they are in the bathroom, stretching in the tub. My funny babies.

Yeah, my guys like to put their faces right over the vents when the air is on! It is soooo funny! Then they do upside down aerobics on the sunny spots of the floor!

They did a documentary on cats on one of the info. channels and they found that cats can tolerate very high heat. Even if they don't like it, they are fine unlike most dogs. You'll find definitely that elderly cats seek out the warm spots
