There's nothing worse than embarrassing yourself in front of your brothers and sisters. Yesterday, my brother, a Major in the Air Force reserves, held a family picnic on the Air Force base close to here. Well......we all had a lovely time, even though Mother Nature decided to sprinkle on us a bit. I headed to the bathroom before Jerry and I started back for home. As I went to leave the potty, I noticed the door was locked. That's ok because I locked it behind me when I came in. Well, unlocking it wasn't working!
I tried for several minutes to unlock it, but no matter what I did, it wasn't working. Hummmmmm. Ok now Susie, don't panic. No windows in the place, the room is about 8 feet by 8 feet. Plenty of light. Plenty of air..........but I still started to feel a little warm..........Ok, now I know Jerry is not going to leave without me, so I sat there for a moment, thinking someone would come along and have to use the potty, notice I'm stuck in there and help get me out. So, I wait, and I wait, and I wait, and I wait................hello, where is everyone??? (no one has to use the toilet when you want them to)
Ok, time to start hollering.
MOOOOM, JERRY, TOMMY, CAROL......HELLLOOOO............. no response....hummmmmmm, ok, well, let me try this. I take both fists and start banging on the door.....that caught everones attention. My brothers came and asked if I was ok.....then of course started laughing while I'm stuck in this thing........finally, between them fiddling with the door outside and me doing the same thing inside, we got the door open!!
It will take me years to live this down.......

Oh boy thats cruel!!

I know how you feel though - we have a toilet at class that does the same thing, it's scary. It's my nightmare to get stuck in there after a late class and have no one find me till morning!!
I can't count the number of times I have cycled home late with a very full bladder just because I am too scared to use the facilities!

Wasn't your fault that bathroom had a bum lock!
Sounds like quite the unexpected adventure, though!

That same thing has happened to me before as well! Except the part about having my brother come to rescue me. THe one I was in managed to open after a few minutes! That's is just too funny though Susie! I'd say the best way to handle that story when he tells it over and over again is simply to laugh with him!

Those are the kind of stories that make future family meetings fun

Sorry, Susie, I just had to giggle at that! It really does sound like something that would only happen when you least want it to!

Glad you got out okay though, I hope the story doesn't get told too often!

Oh I had to giggle too! Sorry but that kind of thing is funny. At least you got out okay and can see the funny, if yet a little embarrassing side of it!

At the kitty's beck and call
Oh dear Susie - I can sympathise having had the same thing happen to me some years ago. I had taken daughter to the toilet in a restaurant, she was only about 5 years; when it came to opening the door we just couldn't make the lock budge. I tried everything I could think of and it still wouldn't move.

In the end I resorted to hollering and banging on the door with my fists till hubby came to rescue us. He did the macho thing "stand back....." then crash - his shoulder went against the door and he let us out. Phew!!!

Here... or There... Hmmm
Think of the positive side of it all... Atleast you didn't stink the place up and have to say there waiting and then have them all gather around the door to get you out and have the smell waif out at them when it finally opened!!! that could have been really embarrising!!!

That happened to me when I was about 6 years old. I was terrified. I yelled for 10 minutes before someone finally came looking to see what was taking me so long. Even now I'm paranoid about it happening again!
