It feels really strange
This is now my 2nd Monday morning at home and I can't get used to it. As some of you may know, I am being made redundant on 31st August but do not need to go into work (so I am getting paid to look for a job / be at home!
)

I have registerd with 6 recruitment agencies (have had my CV sent to 4 companies for consideration via the agency), have had 1 job interview and have applied for 2 positions direct.... and now it's the waiting and chasing! I can't register with too many agencies because otherwise my CV might end up at the same company more than once....

It feels so weird... I am contacting someone today about temping w/c 5th September just so that I can get some money coming in and not have to touch my redundancy. But really, I hope I get a job before then... If all fails though, I can live until February 2006 on my redundancy so I could end up with a lonnnnnnnnng holiday!

Gilly - we can be unemployed together
My last day was on the 5th. I know what you mean about it feeling weird (it was my own choice though which is different from your situation
) . I have so much stuff to do around the house to get caught up on, I have no idea when I will start looking again.

Ahhh nice to know that I am not the only one

I agree though, it's a great time to get things done. I need to paint the hallway and do some other odd jobs about the place..

Well I have 33 days 3 hrs (but whose counting!!) Till I'm done. I have to start my list of to-do projects around the house soon.
Enjoy your time off while it lasts-at least its still summer.

I have been voluntarily unemployed for the past year and a half. The "to do" list NEVER ends!!!!! It just keeps getting bigger!

Gilly, it took me a few months to get over the strange feeling that I had every day because I wasn't going into work. Now, I don't miss it at all!
