Does anyone give their cats essential oils for their health and immune system, and if so, did you have a good experience with it? I've heard that oregano essential oil is good for human immune system, as well as for cats and I'm doing research to see if it's safe for cats and will help Frisky. I'm also researching to see what other essential oils may be safe and good for his immune system as well. I've been studying essential oils for many years and I know they're very beneficial and have tremendous healing properties for all ailments. Do you know what essential oil will aid and help the intestines, immune system, and elimination? I really need to know the answers to these questions. Thank you for being there and for listening.

from my heart,
Frisky's Mom

I would not mess with essential oils since some like Tea Tree can be poisones to cats. If you are interested in going that route - check with a Holistic Vet in your area as not cause more harm than good!!!

I would agree with helen. Find someone reputable and study under them (if they will allow you to) Don't be giving things indiscriminately to your cats until you know for a fact what they will do for that animal. Just like conventional meds, holistic means used incorrectly can do more harm than good and possibly even bring you larger vet bills. Beware of those selling snake oil, they are out there too, and just because you read something on an internet website or hear about a cure in a forum, doesn't mean it is true, so check your facts.

Please do not do this without the guidance of a holistic vet - read this article (which includes a link to a vet article)Why Cats and Essential Oils don't Mix The article includes a partial list of essential oils known to be toxic to cats.

Did someone , again, mention that the holistic approach could help ? If you want something that will safely boost the immune system, it's called Transfer Factor Plus. Non-toxic and non-addictive even in megadoses and it will boost the immune system close to 200 percent. It's very supportive in so many ways. Three capsules a day, usually, for cats. And it's not a "snake-oil remedy" either , because it's been used by holistic vets for years. Some stores will have it, like the ones that sell vitamins. You don't need a vet prescription . They say to give with food because it will assimilate best that way.

I forgot to add that you can buy Transfer Factor Plus over the Internet too. Overnight delivery , in some cases.
