Pardon the expression....but in the last 36 hours there has been 8 different cats at my house! In the 5 years I've lived here, the only cats I've had at my door, are now inside my house! Yesterday morning Oliver was growling at something out the window and when I looked it was a skinny*white cat with gray spots*. Since then there has been a *gray tabby with white paws*, *black with white spots*, *black*, *solid gray*, *orange with white paws*, *brown tabby* and another *gray with white spots*! My husband and I just took a ride to the Dairy Queen, and the last one was in our driveway when we got back. I only put food out for a little orange kitty I've been feeding for months now, at night when he meows at the door, and he eats all of it while I sit with him. I havent seen him in over a week now
and I was just getting close enough to grab him....
There hasnt been food out, so I'm baffled as to why they are all coming here all at the same time....

Either it is a case of people dumping their cats at or near your location OR there is someone else who is feeding the cats or there is a food source in your area. Additionally, if any of these cats are intact females..that will draw males. Have you contacted any groups about having these cats trapped so that they can be vet checked and spayed/neutered?

That makes alot of sense! Yes, I contacted a couple of places before, but they said it will cost me $30 for each cat I bring into them because I live out of their county. I live in a small town, and there is no groups or shelters here. The ones I have live trapped, I've had spayed and neutered at a wonderful local vets for $10-neuter and $20-spay...and they are here at my house, and down at my parents barn. It is really sad that no groups around my area will help with any stray animals that arent from their area! And they all have a 72 hour policy, killing any that stay longer than that, so when I found that out, I havent delt with them since!

You know what...I would contact the Best Friends Network and see if they know anyone in your area who is also working with ferals/strays...it's worth a shot because perhaps you could meet others and combine your efforts to impact your community. So many wonderful things have had their starts because 1 or 2 people cared enough to make a change:

Contact the Best Friends Network: at (435) 644-2001 ext 123, or e-mail them at [email protected]

Sounds like the word is out on the street that your driveway is the new, happening Kitty Club!
Just set up a velvet rope, and you'll be all set! LOL!

On a more serious note, best of luck with TNR efforts for these guys. Are any of these cats you've seen before at all, or have they just appeared just now? I suppose its possible they could be neighborhood cats (or at least a few of them could be). Any of them wearing tags?
Try contacting local rescue groups and shelters to see if there's any way you can get these guys TNRed without costing yourself a fortune.

Your poor Oliver must be going crazy! My Oliver sends his sympathy!

{{{ Prayers & good vibes }}} for assistance in helping these cat!! I hope that BestFriends Network can help you out! Bless you for noticing & caring for these kitties, since their original owners certainly have shirked their duty. And kudos to your vet who neuters your ferals at a reduced rate

Maybe the vet who spays and neuters has a contact in your area for someone else who can help. Best of luck with your colorful bunch!

My husband always jokes that the strays end up here because they can smell a sucker from a mile away.

Good luck, I hope you find the help you need!

Well....this is kind of strange, but not really. They might have been coming around my house because one of strays could have been in heat. They havent been around here in just about a week now. All of a sudden they just all disappeared
So, I'm thinking that's probaly what happened...if it wasnt the case, then it was very strange!
