I've noticed that we've had a lot of break-ups, divorces, illness, and some general tough times on the board lately (not surprising when you think about it, given the size of the membership, .) so for everybody that is having tough times right now
.

I haven't had a very good morning either, although it pales in comparison to what some other folks are going through. Hubby and I went on a short ride and ran a couple of errands this morning and on the way back a $40 mirror fell OFF my motorcycle
. I knew it was loose, I've had nothing but trouble out of my right-hand mirrors (dang Yamaha and their left-handed threads on a right-hand mirror
: ) and should have stopped immediately I noticed the thing had gone beyond loose and graduated to dangling. Unfortunately before I could do anything about it, off she goes. We went back and looked for it, but I was unsure exactly where it came off, and it probably bounced anyway. Finally told DH that in any case I doubted it would be usable; a piece of chromed metal hitting the road at 50+ mph.

Sigh. I'm fixing to go out to the shop and see if I can't hybridize my old mirrors onto the new stems.

Cindy...Remember the old saying "A stitch in time saves nine?"
You don't want to hear that right now ...do you.

You're right ... it's sunspots.

I usually blame those thing on the full moon, but that's not until next week.

I too have noticed alot of unfortunate happenings concerning our fellow TCS'ers. Sorry about your mirror
Maybe the stars are in a bad alignment

Ahahaha. Full moon --- yup, maybe it's just running a bit early this month or something
:

I just looked up those mirrors on the website of the company I bought them from, unfortunately they're a set, I can't buy just one, so it's more like an $80 set I'm out. Won't work with my old mirrors, darn it, and I can't put them (the old ones) back on as the reason I replaced them to begin with was that I dropped the bike when I was learning and bent the stem on the right-hand mirror.

I'll see if I can't find a cheapy set on eBay (from somebody upgrading) to do me until I feel like I can afford spending the money on a new set of custom mirrors.

That's a bummer Cindy.
I hope that you find a mirror without to much of a problem. Are there message boards for your kind of bike? If e-bay does not have what you need maybe someone on a message board would. Good Hunting.

That sucks, Cindy. I know how difficult it can be sometimes to replace parts on bikes too. I remember one time out on a trip on my first Vespa, years ago, the side panel fell off.
Thank heavens I found another at the scooter shop that fit, but it could've taken months, so I feel your pain.

With rising gas prices, keep the cars at home, just use the bikes, and that way you could probably invest in some cool custom mirrors!

Dang straight! $2.50 a gallon
! Whoof! DH came up with a point, I think I'm just going to go ahead and buy a new set. They're these mirrors:

Then I'll have a spare. Although THIS time I'm going to loc-tite the dickens out of them once I get them set!
