I'm having a pity party right now.

Last week I was in my own little comfort zone, getting all my projects done and then my boss comes to me saying she needs me on this super-duper visible project (dealing with stuff for Sarbanes-Oxley where the CEO can go to jail). I try and try to steer her to other people but she wants me to do it. So now I'm on a project where I don't know the requirements, don't know the tools very well, don't have access to the server yet. Yet, I have deliverables Tuesday-Friday and I get shipped to New Jersey next week (Nothing against New Jersey, I'm just not in the mood to go to New Jersey next week).

So I spent 12 hours yesterday trying to wrap up the other projects so I can hand them off (finding I was actually behind farther than I thought) and will spend all of today reading the requirements and program code
. and trying to get my work computer set up to run the application
. My only recreation is taking breaks to check out what's happening on TCS and snuggling with the cats every once in awhile.

So you're all welcome to come join me.
Bring snacks
and music

It definately will work out in the end - if your boss didn't think you could do it he/she wouldn't have given it to you. It is a definate compliment. .... Of course, choclate never hurts either.

Yummy - and champagne to celebrate that I got the web page working. Now I have to keep Visual Studio from crashing. I wish Microsoft applications could all get along.

I have the perfect pity party recipe:
1 Pint Haagen Daaz Chocolate Ice Cream
1 Container Marshmallow Fluff
1 Bag (the bigger the better) Peanut Butter M&Ms

Scoop a freakishly large scoop of ice cream into a freakishly large bowl. Plop some marshmallow cream on top, sprinkle liberally with M&Ms, stir to combine. Eat, cry, repeat.
Warning: this recipe will cause instant addiction and may require you to purchase new pants if eaten too often.

If that doesn't work...nothing will! Good luck, I have a feeling you are going to do fine on your project!

You go girl. Have your pity party and get the job done, too.
I'll bring chocolate syrup and whipped cream for on top of the Haagen Daaz!

Need some beer to go with that. Maybe it will help this stuff I'm reading make more sense.

Thanks you guys.
Not everyone would come to a pity party.
