I'm having a pity party right now.
Last week I was in my own little comfort zone, getting all my projects done and then my boss comes to me saying she needs me on this super-duper visible project (dealing with stuff for Sarbanes-Oxley where the CEO can go to jail). I try and try to steer her to other people but she wants me to do it. So now I'm on a project where I don't know the requirements, don't know the tools very well, don't have access to the server yet. Yet, I have deliverables Tuesday-Friday and I get shipped to New Jersey next week (Nothing against New Jersey, I'm just not in the mood to go to New Jersey next week).
So I spent 12 hours yesterday trying to wrap up the other projects so I can hand them off (finding I was actually behind farther than I thought) and will spend all of today reading the requirements and program code
. and trying to get my work computer set up to run the application
. My only recreation is taking breaks to check out what's happening on TCS and snuggling with the cats every once in awhile.
So you're all welcome to come join me.
Bring snacks
and music
