Meow!

Hello!

My name is Ali and I am so happy I stumbled across this forum. I loooove kitties. Actually, I looove all animals.

Right now, I have Spidey, a male striped tabby of 5 months, and Poppy, a female spotty bicolor of about 3 years. Both are sort of foster types who needed homes, and I am so lucky they did! They are both indoor kitties in a big house that is more 'decorated' for kitties than people. They love boxes, bags, kitty condos, etc, and that is what you see around here.

I live in Bellevue, WA, outside of Seattle. It's cold, rainy and expensive. Don't move here. LOL. But the kitties get to watch all sorts of little critters outside the windows like squirrels and possums, oh my!

I'm 24, still going to school, forever!!! Agh!
And I work, but let's not talk about that.

Oh, I talk a lot! Can you tell???

I'm pretty new to this forum myself but let me tell you that the people here are WONDERFUL! They are very inviting and are a LOT of help. I'm 16 and still in high school, so I kinda know how you feel! Hope to see you posting pics and stories.

Hi Ali, your house sounds like my apartment!! Everything is for our 4 cats. I won't move in bed at night so they are comfy at the foot of the bed...I certainly don't want to disturb them!! I am glad I found this site because all of my friends think I am weird for coo-ing so much over my cats!! Glad to see there are more people like me!!

Oh, don't I know! I've tried to cut down on liquids at night so I don't have to get up! My Poppy is getting over a rocky past, and has just gotten comfortable sleeping in bed with me and I just can't bear to disturb her! Plus, it's a waterbed and with my honey on one side (with the other kitty) and Poppy on the other, I'm trapped! :tounge2:

One of these days, I'll post a pic of my living room - it's hilarious. It's not real big, and right now, it has about 5 boxes and 2-3 paper bags. One of the boxes is a giant executive desk chair box!

Have you read Jo Dereske's books? Thrillers, and great, set in your part of the country. Start w/the first one, though, as the character of "Miss Zukas" expands as you read. I highly recommend her!

Most of the "cat" thrillers I've read are not too well written. I really like the dog ones by Susan Conant. Each one exposes you to a different facet of the dog world. The one about puppy mills (many, sorry to report, in this part of the country) is very enlightening! Anything out there about the cat world? Not "The Cat Who" books or such drivel!

welcome ali i am a animal lover too i have lots of pets and i care about them alot my mom says i have a zoo in my room wich i think is true because my room is the size of a collage class room. i am 21yrs.old and yes i still live with my family because i love them a lot and i love my room. i dont work right know because i am in collage and i also feel like i am never going to get out of here.

Hello Ali! Is your name short for Alicia or Alisha? Oh no! There is another Ali on board!!! So we don't get us confused I will be called Alicia or nena. But people here where I live call me Ali. How cool, no?

Nena...Ali...Alicia...oh my, I just now read your post! Better late than never. Yes, I'm Ali short for Alisha. This board gets confusing when everyone starts using real names b/c even if they write Alicia, I'm wondering if that's me. Ha ha. I used to be friends with an Ali and Alicia in high school. That sure was confusing!
