Ok, so it takes the cat hair off the CAT, but now it's all over ME instead. I've tried cleaning the brush off every few strokes but it's still everywhere but on the cat. Is there some kind of secret to doing this? Or do I just need to do it and then run a lint brush over the entire room?

Here's my lap after the first session with the Zoom Groom!

I use a little spray on coat conditioner before I brush.
It makes all the hair stick to the zoom groom.

I'll be honest, I've never had the hair do anything BUT stick to my Zoom Groom! That's why I was so amazed! If you wet it a little before use, however, the moist rubber will cling to the hair a little better. Good luck!

No words of wisdom here! Except that the zoom groom makes an excellent tool to run across your furniture to pick up hair. That's the only thing I use my zoom groom for since my cats don't like it and I feel it isn't sufficient for my long haired cats anyway! Good luck!

I use the ZG to get the loose hair out and then a slicker brush to pick it up. Also, I groom the cats on a towel on the floor and most of the hair that I don't get ends up on the towel.

I take my cats outside and use the zoom groom as I get lots of hair over me too. Must be our brushing technique-I should pull it away from me instead of towards me!!

I also get covered in hair. Mine are both long haired, and there are clumps flying everywhere. I have a grooming blanket, throw that over my lap first, and then most of the hair stays on the blanket, which makes it much easier to clean up.

I like the grooming blanket / towel ideas!
When I brush my cats I always change into my ratty grey shorts and a grey T-shirt, brush everyone thoroughly, and then change clothes again, because at that point I'm utterly covered in hair.

Am I the only one, who cracked up, when I saw the picture of you covered with fur?
It still makes me laugh when I look at it.

really? I just felt her pain! Actually, earlier that day I had made the mistake of grooming Luna (our new white ragdoll) on my lap. I didn't even stop to think about the fact that I was wearing black from head to toe. 5 mins later, I was white from head to toe and then zoom groomed myself.
at least we know they're working.

I will have to try wetting it. Arlyn I assume the coat conditioner is something you buy at the pet store and spray on the cat? Not sure my boys would go for that, LOL! I have been doing it on a towel so far, but I still get it on my shirt. Oh well. I just have to use a lint brush on my clothes afterwards, I guess. The kits seem to like the brush and it does get a lot of hair off them.

I cracked up, too. We must have the same sense of humor.

When Sophie gets brushed, I never do it on my lap, always on a towel on the floor. I love the Zoom Groom, even with her long hair.

OK, so here's my shirt after tonight's grooming session. I think I just need a special cat grooming outfit. :p I keep forgetting to try wetting it first though.

I cannot believe Henry actually has any hair left after all that came off of him tonight!
