Worse than embarassing, and what an insult, even it was accidental!

I wouldn't have recognized James Earl Ray's name, but I sure would have known it wasn't the same as James Earl Jones. Even if nobody understood the significance, you'd think someone would have caught that the name was wrong.

The name being wrong is bad enough, the fact that the name on the plaque was a murderer is worse, but the name being Martin Luther Kings killer is unthinkable!
Someone's got some 'splainin to do!

(Actually, Ricky spoke Spanish, wasn't there a language issue involved? I imagine MLK doesn't mean much to people outside the US, let alone his killer.)
