what a great board! i'm excited to be a member!
my husband is in the military, and we are currently stationed around naples, italy.
i have two 8wk old kittens, snooker (orange boy) and blossom (a bit of everything girl). i adopted them at a charity event sponsored by naples friends of animals. i had no clue i was going to adopt one, let alone two kitties when i walked over to take a look!
i saw snooker (then about two weeks old i guess) first and he let me hold him for awhile. he looked up at me with that adorable face and that was it...i was his! plus, my maternal instincts were in overdrive (i'm 5 months pregnant). any doubts i had were erased when i asked the sponsor if snooker knew how to go to the litter box. if that little rascal didn't look right at me and walk over to the box and do the deed! so off to the phone to beg hubby to please let me bring a cat home. once i signed the paper for snooker, all of these 'cat people' descended upon me, saying 'oh, you can't just have one get two!' i was powerless...'who does he seem to get along best with?' i asked. the little furball snuggled up to a cute little girl kitten and that was that. i didn't take them home that day, the sponsor was really fabulous and gave me a few days to prepare my house.
now, blossom is the reigning queen of the house, and is my furry little baby. snooker is the prince of mischief; climbing on every single thing and into every closet that has an open door. my 6yr old son is enjoying them too. and they have wrapped my huband around their little paws. it's been fun to watch them 'take over' the house! we are in the process of putting together a nursery for our baby and the kittens are convinced that the cradle and changing table are there just for them!
how did i ever live without cats????
