I'm so mad!!! I went to feed my ferals tonite and noticed a box in the parking lot, it was a liquor bottle box that was all taped up with black electrical tape and it looked strange to me to see a taped up box in the parking lot. I drove up closer and could see that one edge had been pushed out and sure enough someone had dumped a kitten in a taped up box in the parking lot. He started meowing and I called him and he came running up to me and it broke my heart! I'm just glad he got out of the box! It was totally taped up! I waved down the security guard that monitors the parking lot and asked her if she saw someone over there and she hadnt seen anyone but said it couldnt have been long because she hadnt seen the box there before. She stayed with him and I went into the store and bought a carrier and some food and he went right in. Hes very loving, he has definitly been around people before, he is solid black with gold eyes. I brought him home and put him in a large dog crate on the back porch with litter food and water and he drank some and seems ok. I cant keep him, I have so many now, so I will have to look for a home for him. I feel so bad for him. I cant imagine how anyone could put an animal in a box and just leave it. Its unreal how cruel people can be.

I am so glad you found that poor baby and are taking care of him. I agree I too don't understand how someone could do that.

Where in GA are you? Just curious since I am in Demorest.

That's sad, and you know what I got all 16 of mine in a busy shopping center parking lot (rescued I mean) I just can't imagne how someone could do that, And I have mentioned to a few people that I don't think that Cats get the same respect as Dogs do, I myself have never found a litter of puppies or even 1 taped up in a box in a busy shopping center parking lot, what's wrong with people. Thank goodness you came along because had you not some idoit would have ran that box over. Thank You for caring enough to at least look at that box.

Hopefully I can find this little guy a home, he's really a beautiful kitten. He's very friendly. PrissyKitty, I am very close to Savannah, Ga. If you know anyone looking for a kitten let me know, I do want to make sure he goes to a good loving home. I will drive anywhere in the surrounding area to make sure this guy gets a good home. I will try to post a photo of him tomorrow. He looks to be about 3 and a half months or so old.

I know it's not easy to find homes, I had just gotten a female cat that I had been trying to get for a year as she was part of a group of 14 that I rescued. I got all the others last year and did not get her till this year and of course she came with 5 female kittens, I have had all 16 to the vet, spayed, nuetered, tested shots and wormed and treated for fleas. I finally found a home for 2 of the little ones they are about 5 mos old, I kept 2 from last year and I am keeping the mommy, I would like to keep one of the babies, well I wanted all of them, but I had 5 cats already, and its so hard not to get attached I Love them all, they are the sweetest babies, I just want someone to take them and Love them and give them great care, as I feel that's what I
have done. Good luck on finding him a home..But mostly once again Thanks for careing...

Here's a picture of 4 of the 5 of my babies, the other one is solid black
How can you not Love those faces

Oh....bless your heart, for being so very kind, to care for that poor little kitty.
How very sad, that someone would and COULD do this to that poor little animal. I feed a feral colony of cats and kittens on the edge of my town, at an old grainmill. It runs alongside a bikepath. So, it is not unusual, for people to just dump cats and kittens there now. They, unfortunately, have seen, where I have set boxes out(protected) for the cats, during the cold winter months, and bring food/water up to feed them. So, they figure they'll be accepted by the other cats and will have food/ water and shelter. BUT, feral cats most often, do NOT accept new cats into their colony easily. I wish people knew and cared about that fact.

I really hope you are able to find a good home for the little one!

What a lucky kitten, that you came along! I do hope you find a good home for him. My husband found a 6 month old kitten in a closed box once, left in a telephone kiosk. He brought her home and she lived happily with us for 16 years. I can't understand people.

Wow... I'm glad you found him! What a cruel jerk that person must've been to leave a helpless innocent kitten taped up in a box!
That's just horrible! I am glad that you noticed it! God bless you for caring for him!

Well, the little guy had a brother. My daughter and I went to feed the kittys last night and going to do some shopping and when I got out of the car I heard mewing. We walked closer to where it was coming from and there was a trailer to an 18 wheeler parked out by where I found the first little guy and up on top of the tire was another little black kitten. He hopped down and started mewing and trying to rub against our legs and I went inside and bought another carrier and he walked right in and I brought him home. He is in with his brother now, happy as can be. I am going to talk today to a rescue organization about helping me place them in homes. Hopefully they can help me. They look totally the same, I cant tell them apart now. They had a bowl of catsip this morning and are playing. I still cant believe someone did this. It would have been better for them to take them to the animal shelter than to have dumped them the way that they did.

Malynn....I always want to say THANK YOU to you. Seriously...you are doing something so wonderful by caring for these cats and I know there isn't much if any glory in it. Know that your efforts have improved the quality of life for these cats and that you have saved these kittens from a very bad situation.

Those cats were SO lucky to find you!

A close friend had a very similar situation happen last year. A neighbor of hers was working at a construction site. He came in early, and was setting up when he kept hearing noises from a large dumpster. Long story short, he found a little 6-week old kitten tied up in a PLASTIC SHOPPING BAG in the dumpster. Kitty ran away, and the guy (who actually despises cats) came back every 1/2 hour until past midnight that night checking the food he left for him.

The kitty now has a VERY loving home and is doing great (and, for some reason, loves plastic bags LOL - you'd think he'd be afraid of them). It just drove us nuts for quite some time that someone would intentionally do that to a kitty - I mean, it's still not right to just let them go, but at least give them a fighting chance, you know? Horrible.

Can't wait to see pictures of your new friends - I'm sure you will find them a wonderful home (hopefully together!).

The new boys went to the vet today. They got their vaccinations, distemper, rabies and leukemia and deworming. They came out negative for their leuk. test. I'm so glad. They are 4 months old and weigh 4 pounds. They are so good in the carriers, and so sweet and calm. They dont get too upset over anything. I have to find them homes now. Going to Petsmart this weekend with a rescue group with them so I will be their foster mom till they find homes. My vet took my number, someone was in the clinic yesterday looking for kittens to adopt. It will be hard to let them go, but I'm so glad they have a chance at a good home now. I'm going to take some pictures of them today, I got a new camera a while back and havent had a chance to use it much. So I will post a pic on the picture thread of them.

Took them to Petsmart on Saturday with a great rescue organization here in my area. They weren't adopted, there were so many kittens but they did great. It didnt bother them a bit, they were so calm and so sweet. Lots of people came to play with them. My husband went with me and sat with me the whole time and helped me out alot. Hopefully they will find a loving forever home. They are such sweet boys. They will stay here with us until a home is found for them.

It is for that same reason I cannot run over a bag on the road. I will do my best not to hit it because it makes me want to vomit when I think about what could be inside. Granted I cant stop for ever mcd's bag that is in the road, but I always think about it. Some people have the blackest souls. I have no sympathy for anyone like that. A special place in hell is reserved for people who mistreat animals, and I firmly believe that.

The boys went to their new home today. They will be living with my daughter in Alabama. We named them Murphy and Max. They are the most easy going kittens I have ever seen. They are soo sweet and lovable. I dont know how anyone could have thrown them out like that. They made the 6 hour trip fine today, they didnt make a peep, slept the whole way. They are adjusting to their new home just fine. Lucky boys!
