My cat Pearl is eight years old. Ever since I got her at 6 weeks she has sucked on my ears. She gets aggravated if I have earrings on!!!!!! She also kneads while doing this. It goes on several times a day. Sometimes she will do it to my husband. Does anyone have a cat that does this? I really don't mind it but other people think it's strange. Her sister lives with my daughter-in-law and has never done it. I actually think it makes us closer and she seems comforted by it. She's also VERY spoiled and loves to smack my German Shepherd when she barks or plays. She's very bossy and strictly an indoor cat who is declawed and spayed. Thanks!!!

Leeloo used to do the same thing to my neck when she was very little, it was so cute (slightly painful with the kneading with her claws out but still cute) she eventually grew out of it when she got to around 8 months old. My other cat, Ziggy doesn't do this with me, but he will suck/knead on any type of carpet, especially those bathroom rug/mat things (he is really funny about it, if you call him and he looks up his tongue will be wagging like a dog its the cutest thing in the world) he'll also do it to my fluffy slippers, wool blankets anything soft and fluffy basically... I'm hoping he grows out of it too but he is still only 5 months

Max loves to suck my ears! Alfie will do it to, but only if Max has already started, otherwise he's happy just to sit on me and purr!

My neighbours must think I'm deaf, as I keep having to turn up the tv when I have two kittens purring right in my ears

Thanks for answering. I really never want Pearl to stop because it comforts me too! Have you ever heard WHY they do it? I know what you mean about turning up the TV!

Have you ever heard WHY cats do this? I have heard many reasons but no one knows for sure. And I will vote.

I think she may have been taken away too young but her sister never did it. That's why I was curious.

Somes kittens will ear suck and some wont. None of my kittens are taken away from their mother too young and of the 100's I've had none have done this.

We found Gizmo (she was dumped) at 5 weeks old. She used to suck/knead on my arms or fingers. But all at once, she quit doing it. She doens't even knead anymore if she's being petted and is purring and loving the attention. Gosh, I just realized today that she's 4! We found her in the middle of September, so right about now would be her 4th birthday. Hubby and I met in Feb, and got Gizzie in September, so we've had her almost as long as we've been together, and for longer than we've had our daughter!

When I ready your reply I started laughing because my husband's nickname is Gizzie or Gizmo. Cat are the best!

It is really cute. I don't know what I would do without her. Is Juicy a line of cat clothes like Juicy Couture?
