tow nights ago i heard a loud meowing from outside, i opened the front door to find this beautiful big male tabby just sitting there looking up at me, i fed him meat biscuits and cat milk and he wouldn't stop crying, he's the most vocal cat iv'e ever met.

last night he came back, i heard him crying again so i went out and fed him, i also convinced hubby to allow him inside for a while and he just sat on the floor and closed his eye's, he looked so content and stopped crying, i also picked him up last night and he was so cuddly, my husband won't let me keep him, he says he looks like he already has a home anyway

he sniffs bonnie and pandy through the door and seems to really like them, he just seems so lonely outside by himself, i wish i could keep him

i called him gus, here are a few photo's of him.

I would put flyers around...someone may have moved & left him. You may need to tell you husband that you have another cat in your family. Gus may have adopted you.

he looks very well fed, he feels a but skinny when you actually hold him, especially his spine but that doesn't mean he's not being fed.

there are only 100 people who live here so i will ask around, he has no collar but that doesn't mean anything either, most people around here don't put collars on or desex their cats

he just made himself at home so quickly, we are leaving in nine months, maybe i'll just sneak him into the car

people who live here are only ever here for a while then they move on, i actually never thought that someone might have left him, there is a new girl in town but she only has a dog as far as i know.

i'm working on the husband, my theory is, if i keep gus in for a bit longer each night then maybe jef will change his mind

wish me luck

I would put flyers out and make sure you take one to the local vet's office. Lizbeth was that way. She had not been on her own for long but was obviously lost or dumped off in my yard. I had never planned on having 5 cats, Felicia, but it just happens

also, bonnie and pandy sit at the screen door and sniff gus, pandy is always friendly but bonnie isn't, at least not with cats that come near the windows but with gus it's different and he doesn't hiss at either of them, he just cries to be let in as if this is his home already

the last cat that hung around was a large fluffy ginger male, it belongs to the people next door, bonnie hated that cat and would hiss at it through the screen door until it left.

it was a nasty cat though, i would feed it and it was so smoochy, it would nearly fall over trying to rub it's self aginst me then all of a sudden it bit my hand really hard and made me bleed, my husband also patted it and as he walked away it scratched the back of his leg and drew blood

there isn't a vet here
there's one two and a half hours away though...great for emergency's

it makes me wonder why he's suddenly started to hang around, it is like he's been left here and if he has i'm not going to leave him by himself, i just couldn't do that.

i could put flyers up but because there are so many strays and people here don't see cats as anything special they would probably think i was crazy, they already don't understand why i keep my kits indoors

What a handsome guy!
He does look well-fed, but just in case he's lost, you should probably allow him to keep hanging out. If he does have a home close by, and is wandering off like this, it could be that he just isn't given enough companionship at home to keep him there (hey, isn't that what the cheating husbands told Oprah?
). The safest thing for Gus is to keep around you! How do Panda & Bonnie react when he sniffs under the door?

Aw, who cares what they all think. YOu would be doing what's best for the kitty and possibly an owner who might be missing him .

Aw, he looks like a Gus!
Looks like kitty #3 has found you! I keep hoping maybe a ragdoll, a bengal, or another tuxedo kitty will wander into my yard! LOL! Ooh, maybe a polydactyl! Or a tortie! My husband has said the only way we could have another cat is if we found one...maybe I'm just not looking hard enough! LOL!

Put flyers up but DON"T describe him - only say FOUND CAT and about where you found him. PUT them up all over and if people call make THEM describe him to you.

Do NOT let him near your cats unless you know for CERTAIN he has no diseases! I had Panther checked out for FIV/FELV BUT he still came down with Calici/herpes and I have spent a FORTUNE on him and to protect my other cats.

I hope you get to keep him!

that's why i haven't allowed him to get too close my my kitties because i can't risk him giving them something that might harm or kill them, i love them way too much.

i hope i can keep him too, if he doesn't have a home, he's sooo friendly and sweet and very vocal, i just love that, plus, he's not aggressive at all

Aw, he looks like a Gus!
he does doesn't he! as soon as i saw him the name just came to mind and it stuck
