Hi,

We are getting a new kitten soon and we already have 2 cats (female and mLE) from 2 different homes/breeders. anyway since we got oscar, cookie has been horrible towards him. he is really friendly and loves cuddles and wont fight at all. Would getting a new cat make oscar unfriendly to the kitten or would his gentle nature stay. I dont want the cat to feel rejected.

Also has anyone got any name suggestions for a black white and torti kitten?

I wonder if getting another cat might make things even harder on poor oscar, since apparently cookie doesn't like him. And chances are Cookie would make life very difficult for both of them. Alternatively it might put cookie in a better mood if she has something to mother. I don't know enough to guess how your cats will react. But I do know that when I had my foster come my oldest cat became a HUGE brat, she growled at me all the time. But after she left everything went right back to cuddly normalcy. So if it doesn't work out you can try to re-home your kitten.

Never, never, never get another cat to fix a CAT problem!! Introducing a new cat just opens the door to more new problems. Get another cat if YOU want another cat, but don't get it if you think it's going to be a solution to your current cats' problems. Fix that FIRST, then get another cat.

oh, wouldn't getting another cat solve the problem of the one you have being lonely?

Noggin, how long has it been since you brought that kitten?

we haven't got the kitten yet but will be getting it in about 3 weeks. We are not getting it to resolve problems. oscar seems happy and is a farm cat so loves being outdoors and ovoids cookie. she wont walk over to him and scrap only if he goes for her. Do cats get jealous and could this be it?
