Today is the third day Spyder has not been interested in his food. He ate about 4 bites of food yesterday and the day before, he hasn't even begged for any food today yet at all and he's always scratching and meowing at the food cabinet as soon as he sees me in the kitchen.
He's been laying about a bit more than usual too.

Also my sister says he threw up clear mucus(sp?) stuff yesterday morning.
I'm going to call the vet when they open this morning and see if I can get him an appointment for today.

Your kitty may have gotten into something that made a yucky tummy. A few weeks ago I woke to a house with lots of mucusy vomit all over. I finally figured out which cat did it and she spent a whole day not eating and a few more pukes. By the next day she was fine.

The exterminator had been there the day before and I think she may have gotten a bit of the poison (scary, huh.) Or she ate a poisoned bug.

Either way, it cleared out of her system.

I say take your cat to the vet if you are worried. It was a Saturday for me, so I waited, but I was prepared to go to the emergency vet asap. I would not have waited a 2nd day though.

Thanks Susan and Annette.
I just called the vet and got an appointment for 2:45 this afternoon (ET).

Annette, I'm glad your kitty is ok, that really must have been scary! It seems like if something's gonna happen with our babies it usually on the weekends.
Which is why I want to take him today, tomorrow starts the weekend and they probably won't have an available appointment.

Just got home from the vet. Spyder checked out ok, normal temp. So the vet decided to do xrays and found Spyder is constipated, he has 2 big poops blocking him up
They are keeping Spyder for a few hours to give him an enema. I'll pick him up this evening.
The vet said he should be back to eating again soon after, but if he isn't eating by tomorrow afternoon then I have to call the vet and they would have to do the kind of xrays that use the dye.

Thanks for the update about Spyder. I'll be sending good thoughts that the treatment today takes care of his problem.

Thanks Susan and Lei!!

Spyder's home!!
The enema cleared him out and as soon as I let him out of the crate he went right to the kitchen for food and he ate almost a half of a can...now to see if it stays down.

Spyder just threw up his food. But he did drink alot of water after he ate, which I rarely see him do. Hopefully it was just from all of the water. Will have to keep a close watch after he has his breakfast tomorrow.

Thanks for the PM about Spyder throwing up his food. Poor sweet baby. I am so sorry.

I know that you are worried. I would be too.
I will be praying that Spyder keeps his water down & keeps some food down tomorrow.
Please let us know how he does in the morning.

It was probably just too much on an empty stomach. I would feed him very small amounts every hour or so for a day or two.

How is Spyer this morning? I've been thinking about him & hoping that he was able to keep a little food in his tummy?

Thanks for the good thoughts Pat, Lei, OllyExtra05, Jenny, Susan, and Sam!

Since 4 AM, Spyder has eaten 3 times in small amounts and hasn't thrown up again. His last feeding was about a half an hour ago, so I'm still watching him from that one.

Weird thing is is that since he's came home yesterday he's drank more water than I've seen him drink in the previous 4 years.
I'm keeping
that he's ok now.
