I've lost 5 lbs in one week by working out and drinking LOTS of water! I'm so happy, and I'm being quite silly because this morning I was dancing around my apartment like I had won the lottery or something! LOL!

I'm 110lbs overweight. My goal is to lose it all by this time next year! Sooner would be better but as long as it comes off I'm happy! Hah, I can't believe I've already lost 5 lbs!!

Cassie that's great! That will help your medical issues as well if you keep dropping the weight.

Great, well done! I was going to post today saying I had lost 2 kg (5 pounds) too, but I won't do a separate thread now. What regime/diet are you following? I have to lose around 50 pounds and I follow a version of hte Slimming World low-fat diet which works for me.

Well Done!!!

I'm going back on my healthy eating plan next week, I first tried it at the start of the year and lost 28lbs in about three months. Only want to lose about another 14lb and am quite determined!!

Keep us updated on how you get on!

I know how exciting that can be!! But it's kinda strange because I never did do any work out (unless my little walks during the evening count) and most of the time I'm on the computer..but somehow..I lost 5 pounds this summer
I used to weigh like 185 now I weigh like 180. And I noticed that recently I gotten thinner. Wow I dont even know how it's happening but I'm not complaining!!

Thanks you guys!!

I'm not following any particular diet. The reason being is becuase whenever I try to follow a strict diet I seem to fail miserably and being on a strict diet is depressing.

I've just started to eating 3 meals a day (I used to skip breakfast but not anymore)! I also have a healthy sandwhich for lunch. For dinner I typically have a loaded salad (yummy) or a taco. Usually if it's something fattening (like pizza) I make sure that I have small portions (like 1 slice) with a salad. Also I'm drinking a minimum of 96 ounces of water a day. Anything else that I drink is diet (besides my coffee.. I can't live without coffee.. especially since I'm waking up at 5:45 am).

It feels wonderful! And because I'm not on a diet and I'm letting myself eat whatever I want I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I have no desire to binge or "sneak" food. Yippee!!

Right now I'm doing about 40 minutes of cardio.. burning about 400 calories every morning. Eventually I'll work up to about an hour to 1.5 hours of cardio. I really want to build my endurance up, because I want to start hiking.

I'm so excited!

That's awesome, you're doing a good job! I learned in a lot of my classes that fad diets are part of the reason why people have trouble losing weight, especially crash diets where you lose lots of weight fast. The body thinks you're going through a famine, so as soon as the weight is gone and you start eating normally, the body thinks "Famine over! Better store up more food so I can survive the next one!" Then your body adds on even more weight! You're doing exactly what you need to - healthy eating and lots of exercise! Keep up the good work, and don't be discouraged if it takes longer than you want, you'll reach your goal soon enough!

I agree that fad/ fast diets are bad and it is important to eat healthily from all food groups. Also, not to skip meals and to take lots of water. If you do those things you can't go wrong. Why I like Slimming World is because you do those things, and can also have the odd glass of wine, bar of chocolate or whatever. It is good for those of us who otherwise would eat cheese/chips/chocolate and forget proper meals. I used to go to their classes int he UK and it was great - I need group support normally, but there are no such things here so I am trying really hard to do it on my own.

that's great! hope you don't forget to actually eat, no fad diets, alright?! have you tried drinking green tea instead of coffee? it's been said (on Oprah, haha) that since green tea has caffeine too, it can replace coffee and it can also help you lose more pounds.

Don't feel silly!! I would be dancing around the apartment too - and, you know, dancing is a GREAT form of exercise...lol

Congratulations! I hope you continue to do well, but if you have some tough times, just remember, it'll all be worth it in the end and don't let the down times take over
