Hi all, appreciate any replies to this...

My cat has chronic ringworm as he's a mix Persian and we live in the tropics (Singapore). I've tried all fungal treatments and had good success with Lamisil, though it did come back. Problem is that my cat hates, hates, hates the taste, so I can't mix it into any kind of food, even the most strong smelling sardines etc. In the end, I had to pill him twice a day which was traumatic for both of us. I've tried crushing a pill, mixing with water and squirting into his mouth, but he starts to foam! Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Elena

In my experience, the best way to pill a cat without anyone losing an eye is what I like to call the kitty burrito method. Take a bath towel and wrap the kitty up so that it can't move any of its legs/paws (think swaddling clothes, baby Jesus style) and then open the kitties mouth, slide the pill in the side of his/her mouth (harder for them to spit it back out at you this way) and then close their mouth so they swallow it.
Or, you could try rubbing a bit of butter on the pill or putting it in a hunk of cheese.
Good luck!

Peanut butter works well. Most cats love the taste and just give them water after because it sticks to the roof of their mouth
