I do. One cat named Max and one bird named Max.

Max the bird was first - but Max the cat was a stray and he responded well to Max and we were hesitant to change his name. So now we have "Max the cat" and "Max the bird". When we call one - sometime they other will respond... we will say "No, not you - the other one" or "No not you, Max the bird".

Ok, odd, but both are happy and so are we.

I don't have any pets that have same names.....although hubby likes to call them all "Pinhead". In fact, I've never re-used a name.....for me, I had a cat named Tigger, so I will never name another pet Tigger. Call me weird.

Well Jack Daniels was almost Kitty Baby after my aunt's first cat. They found the cat so they just called him Kitty well then they found out that he's protective of human babies so they always called him kitty baby. Well then my mom kept saying how much Jack Daniels looked like Kitty Baby so I almost made his name Kitty Baby but instead that's just his nickname so it all works out hehe.

Nope. Everyone has a unique, indivual name. I won't even use a name of any of my previous pets. My grandfather, on the other hand, named every single dog he had "Snitz" and he had several over his lifetime.

How do you explain that one??

I don't want to ever use the same name twice if I can avoid it.

We imported a cat called Alfie a few years ago and this past kitten season we had a kitten called Elf.

We had a kitten called Beary a few years ago and when we first got our stud Benja he was named Bear so we changed it.

My mom had two dogs growing up named Caesar One and Caesar Two. They weren't related, but looked exactly alike, and both met their ends chasing cars.

She also had a dog named "Boots the Blonde Alligator" who was part Basset, part lab and so he looked like a lab that was very low to the ground! LOL!

I would never call a pet by the same name as another one. I do have a habit of sometimes using the same nickname though - all my cats at some point have ended up being called 'baby boy' when they're being cute.
