I'm very sad 2 of the five are in a new home, I felt very sad walking away and leaving them, I have no idea how long it takes them to adjust, I am pretty sure they will be loved and taken care of but it's still Heart braking to see them go, they will miss there sisters, and I hope they don't have the mind to wonder why I got rid of them. I'm no good at this part of having them

That's great...you have given these 2 a better chance at a new life.

I know exactly how you feel. I too have taken in litters from ferals in hopes of providing a healthy loving start for them. Adopting them out is very hard especially when you have bottle fed them from their very beginnings in life.

You did a good thing though. God bless you for helping these little fuzzy creatures who can't help themselves.

It's always hard to say goodbye, but think how much they will enjoy their new lives that you have given them. They know that you love them, and they will soon love their new home too.

I hope they adjust easy, they were still shy naturally around people they didn't know, but they pretty much had the run of our home. The one was very nosey and full of energy, the other a little shy, but she still loved attention, so I hope those things will help them get along fine, I asked the people if the mined if I called, not alot just once in awhile they said of course not, and I won't do that long only till I feel better about them being gone, I guess that's alright, and for me it just has to be.

Aw, you are so good to care so deeply for your kitties! I am sure that you placed them in good homes. Kittens adjust quickly, and I'm sure their new family will lavish them with attention & affection. It's been awhile since I've had to place kittens, and out of 5 (they were ferals whose mom disappeared when they were about 10 days old) I was only able to place 2 because my dog (who helped care for them) and I were too attached, besides, I couldn't bring myself to approve of the potential adopters. The 2 kittens that I did adopt out went to 3 roommates, college-aged kids who were vegans, loved rock-climbing & just seemed to have really gentle spirits. I called several times over the next 5 months and was pleased each time. Fortunately, they used my vet, and she was happy to confirm that the kittens went to a great home that provided them with the medical necessities, toys, etc. When you check up on your little guys, please let us know how they're doing, okay?

I am sure you found them good homes, because you knew just what to look for, and that they will be very happy and loved. But it is hard on you right now. i hope that it is easier as the others also go to their furever homes- you are doing a wonderful thing for all these babies.

Well I want to call this minute and check on them, but I don't want to not give them time to adjust. This is a venture that I dare say I don't think I want to encounter again, the easy part is rescueing, getting them what they need, the hard part is your Heart hurting when they go, and mine is just not cut out for it, when it comes to the cats I don't think with my brain, and I don't see how you can ever get used to it, I will keep everyone updated on the other 3, Thanks for all your Wonderful words and support.

Good news, I called the lady this morning and ask her if they were doing ok and if they came out of the carrier on there own and she said oh yes, said her son who is 43 had been playing with them and brushing them, and 1 led the other to the litter box and stood there and waited for her, so I feel releived maybe I wasn't to bad of a step in mom for them, I feel much better now.

Awww. You were a great step mom, that's why this is so hard on you. But I'm glad to hear that they are doing so well!

Well I think 2 more of the babies will be going to new homes witch is good, But still it's still hard to let them go. They become like a part of us when we put so much in them, All the Love to them and from them. The time and the effort doesn't really matter much.

Oh Boy now I have a problem, My sis-in-law's cat has Liver failure, the vet said he probably won't last a month, and she wants my itty bitty black rescued kitten
I was going to keep her ,I have so much emotionally in them it was hard for me to place the first 2 in a home, now I don't know what to do, She said well I have a solid white one so I want the black one
I am thinking that's not a good reason to want that baby. She has 4 shih Tzu a pom, a sheperd. a cat and a bird, I know I shouldn't say this but I felt like she let 2 of her cats go way to long before putting 1 to sleep and the other died from Kidney disease, I'm so confussed as to what to say.

Oh I know it's my choice, But we have been the best of friends for 40 years and she's had such a terrible time with her animals the last 2 years, But you are right and if I decide to keep the baby that's how it will have to be, I have spent a year on the rescue of all of the Cats by myself and I think maybe the 5 baby kittens were a reward to me lol, I never had baby kittens. I Love them all, I have gotten a home for 2 they are gone already that was bad enough, and I think one may go Monday, and the little Black one is so needy she sits on my feet when she's scared, licks my face and my feet and she's very tiny, Maybe I'm still trying to tell myself that she needs ME lol

I need no convencing AT ALL, although I already have 5 inside including her mommy and her uncle
So I guess she doesn't want the stress of seperation
she reminds me of a little black baby bat
I so far have been calling her batbaby, not wanting to really name her, and truthfully other then wanting to keep her myself I'm concerned about all of her dogs, they bark like there nuts, and I know they used to chase her other cats I don't like that at all, now I have 1 Basset Hound who thinks these kittens are hers, she would never chase them or hurt them. These kittens didn't have a great start in life being born in a busy shopping center parking lot.It took this kitten 2 weeks to come out from hiding when I brought them home, Oh my still convencing myself
