Whatever is decided about other info, I will need:

1. Your username
2. Your real name
3. Your complete mailing address
4. Your email address

You can send it all to me at 'deb at thecatsite dot com' (Insert symbols where appropriate). Please wait until other info like favorites is decided upon.
I think the info you requested is fine Deb. Just make sure you list a few things, in the price range that Deb said, that you would like in case the person you get paired up with doesn't know you very well. Helps to give them ideas.

Let's decide on some favorites that everyone can include in their email.

Favorite color
Favorite scent
Do you collect anything?

Come on, Susie. You're the question queen. What should they include?

FYI

Ornament exchanges can be fun too.

Usually you take names of everyone who wants to participate and then once the number is set, you each make an ornament for everyone on the list.

Usually one person collects the ornaments at their house and then makes packages for each member.

So if you make 25 ornaments you should get 25 different ones back.

Movin' on up!
These things DO need to be started early. We have members on every continent, except Antarctica and participants will have to allow for shipping time.

For those in the US, check US Postal Service's website, for shipping dates. Usually, anything going to Europe, Asia or the Middle East needs to go no later than the first week of December. FedEx, UPS and DHL will take items a bit later but, cost more.

Take into account security concerns, too. Odds are, packages will be dog-sniffed, X-rayed and possibly opened. This can also cause delays.

everything seems to get checked coming into Australia. I have recieved many parcels from TCS over the past year and 90% of them have been opened by customs and checked, so thats good advise.

If they like jewelry and what kind.....for instance, I'll wear earrings from time to time, but very seldom necklaces or bracelets.
Also, maybe favorite type of music/band?
Just a couple of ideas that came to me when I should be going to bed.

Well, as far as Im concerned, when you sign up for the Secret Santa, you should give 5 ideas of your favorites.......example, like Deb said, perfumes, colors, if you collect something, size, hobbies, etc. Just at least 5 of your favorite things.......or if you like to be surprised, list that too. But I do agree, since September is almost here, we should get this started....

You want to be sure if your sending overseas to check the customs site of the country you are sending to. Last year, I sent catnip gifts to Australia and they confiscated the package, took all the toys and burned the toys and the box it came in- repacked the other "safe" items and sent it onward.
Oh and sent me a nasty nasty note about sending plants in the mail

Okay...who is going to run it? I'm ready to send my info......just need to know to who. I'm pretty sure a MOD already said they'd do it. But, want to make sure that they still do, and when we should send PMing her.

Is Deb 25 going to be the organizer or is she collecting until someone else steps up to the plate? I just read the thread and I'm still a little lost with who is doing what.

Wow that really sucks. I got some cat nip from England and was going to plant it this summer but I can 't find it, I think Emmett hid it somewhere. I'm sure it will turn up soon. He really loved his imported cat treats!
