What is the best way to lift and carry kitty after her surgery so as not to stress out her incision or muscles? I mean simply transferring her from one room or spot to another.

To be honest, I would try and do it as little as possible. If you can get her into one room with all her needs for a day or two that is best. If you have to pick her up do it by holding her under her back legs and an arm around her front legs, then hold her almost upright so there is no strain on her tummy. But try to keep it to a minimum. She will let you know if you are hurting her!
