We picked up our white German Shepherd puppy today and Vader just loves her. We call her Snow, and she is petite and dainty and gets along with most of the cats- Here is her TCS debut. She is 7 weeks old-

Oh and she is a throw-back (a long-hair) She went to the vet and checked out 100% a-okay-

Massey checking her out

Snow, Mike and Massey- The only cat unhappy about this new edition is Gypsy. Apparently dogs make her quite nervous. She spat and hissed and ran upstairs to hide-

But we will just give it time-

Oh, she's beautiful!!! We've thought of getting a dog, but Emmy's made it clear
She'd probably drag the bag of cat food out to the corner, with a handmade sign around her neck....."Free to good home, and by good, I mean NO dogs!!"

I hope that Gypsy will change her mind about Snow.

I LOVE HER I LOVE HER I LOVE HER!!! Wow white German Shepherds are such beautiful dogs - well, GSDs are beautiful no matter what, a favourite breed of mine for sure! She is an angel, MA, you must be in luuuuurrve!!! I had a throw-back GSD once - he was a `blue' and had quite a curly coat, event thought it was short. I loved him to pieces. Please please send us more pics when you can!

And I'm sure Gypsy will come around - if anyone can coax love out of her I'm sure you can.

Oh your so lucky to be able to live in a place with so much open land and thus many pets. I really envy that.

LOL Gaye, I think Vader already has that job! Vader was also checked over and given his shots today- they all thought he was quite handsome. It was amazing while we waited how many people thought Snow was an American Eskimo or a Samoyed.
But I love throw-backs and not many people want to adopt long-haired german shepherds-

Awww she is adorable! I also had no idea that the adopting age was so different for dogs to cats!

I agree! Long-haired German Shepherds are beautiful. I know their coats can be a lot of work, but they are such graceful, proud looking dogs and with long coats it just makes them even more regal, IMHO.

No breeder here. We will be getting Vader neutered at 7 months and her spayed at 6 months. The earliest my vet will do them. The long-hairs are considered by some to be the genetic defects as the gene is recessive, just as the white gene is recessive as well. I have to laugh she is tucked way back under my computer. Here she is hiding from Vader who is a tad overwhelming on her first day.

Hmm.....I have a friend who breeds GSD she has a good line of the normal coats and the long hair she just calls them smooth and rough
and her dogs are all excellent!
