Do you prefer to rent movies or go see them at the theatre?

Hmmmm... I like to rent and watch all the extra DVD stuff.

Rent. People irritate me with their crunching and slurping!

There's more of that at the cheap theatres. People seem to be less loud at the expensive ones.

I do love to go to the movie for a special treat, but it's so expensive. I can't go to the movies in my PJs, either Well, I could... but... people might think it a bit odd I like sitting on the couch in my PJs watching movies, too

Sure you can go to the movies in your PJ's Chris! I mean, kids think it's cool to wear their PJ bottoms out in public, so you'd fit right in!

I love going to the theatres. I go when it's cheaper and not many people in the theatre. The first showing (usually 12:00pm or 1:00pm) on Saturdays; there's barely anyone there. Plus I sneak my own food in!

I do like to rent movies as well, but there's something about seeing them on the big screen.

Renting or if I really really want the movie, I buy it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to the movies but I don't have too much money to spend $9 on a ticket and another $9 on snacks!! Too expensive!!!!!!

People already think you're a bit odd though don't they? (Just kidding Chris!!! )

BUT!, if we had a choice i'd still prefer to watch a dvd at home and be comfy like what Chris said
post #13 of 26
I like both..
Although i prefer watching at home, there are some that i want to see on the big screen for the full effect..I've been meaning to see war of the Worlds at the theater, but it's taking us so long, we'll end up renting it!
Go to the theater, we usually buy everything we've seen if we liked it.

I like to rent cause the theatre is expensive and I like to cuddle up on the couch with my kids with a blanket over us
post #16 of 26
I prefer seeing them at the cinema. We don't buy DVD's although we sometimes do rent them.

I also prefer to watch movies in the comfort of my own home, but I do agree that some movies you just have to see on the big screen for the full effect.

Both. New stuff I like to see on the big screen with a decent sound system. But it's good to just flop in front of the tube at home, too. Only trouble with that is taking the blessed thing back.

I agree with you Susan.

Netflix! You gotta try it!
Oooh that's a tough one. My bf is the world's biggest movie buff and gets all fretty if we don't go to the theatre at least once a week, and I must admit the whole experience is great. But I think I prefer staying at home in my jarmies cuddled up with him and popcorn and pussy cats watching DVDs in the comfort of my own sofa bed!
Personally, I like to watch movies in the comfort of my own living room...BUT it's fun to go out to the theatre every once in a while...especially Century Cinema (a fancy shmancy art house) or The Music Box (old vintage theatre that does midnight showing of cult classics like Harold and Maude, Ferris Bueller, Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc.)

Wait til they come out on DVD mostly!! Then we just buy them.
We don't really do either! We wait until they come on cable.
