I just realized that this was here in the forums....yep, a little slow.
I write, and have been told that I am pretty good....but I am not sure that this is really the place to post it. Its not about cats.
Any thoughts?

You write pretty well. (good is an adjective not an adverb,

You would say I write well or I am a good writer.

Just trying to be helpful. I am the daughter of a school principal so she forever corrected our grammar and for some reason - you are not alone by any means, many ppl make the mistake betweeb good and well. I even hear it one the news networks!!! I am forever editing my students' (med Residents) reports - it is sort of an ingrained I think, lol And I serve on several editorial boards, one of a daily newspaper and we have reporters who make that error too, yikes!!

The other one that irks me and I see it in print too is it's and is.

I know many writers really like The Elements and Style by Strunk and White but I love Mastering Effective English, an oldie but goodie. I am too young to have used it as a textbook in school but my mom did and I managed to find a copy at a library book sale for $1. Mind you, Elements is online here:

http://www.bartleby.com/141/ (1918 version tho, lol)

Good luck with your writing!

She did not say that she writes well. She said that others told her that her writing was good. They wouldn't tell her that her writing was well. That would make no sense.

You are right about that, but I chose to ignore that post. But thanks for making that point!
