Somecats will switch right away from one to another. some wont. If you mix the two litters by putting the Yesterdays news on the bottom and the old stuff on the top they mix it in naturally when they dig..and it can switch over better

I wonder how many cat horror stories begin with "We thought we'd try a new litter..."
Anyway, if you must change to a new litter that is noticably different from the previous one, do as ScamperFarms suggests and mix them together gradually. Be prepared though, as your cat(s) might not appreciate the gesture and might start leaving notices of their displeasure outside the litterbox. Hopefully your cats won't mind, but litter is one thing they can be especially fussy about.

I tried just yesterday news by itself and she stepped in, looked around and walked out. last night she didnt use it at all but was real whiny this morning when i was getting ready..so i added some of the old on top (just a lil bit) and she walked right in and tinkled....hopefully this will work...i'd hate to spend the money and her not use it!
