It was so very exciting. My best girlfriend came house hunting with me, as I was single at the time and needed another trusted opinion. I remember that it was the most we had ever spent on a shopping spree!

Congrats!

Congratulations!

I bought my first place nearly 2 years ago (20th Aug 2003 to be exact!). I saw the property on 16th June and put in an offer on 17th June then it took a few months for all the legal stuff to go through so by the time we completed and I got the keys on 20th Aug I was a nervous wreck!

Then I spent a few months sorting the place out (ripping out the windows, putting in a new bathroom and kitchen plus the decorating on top of that) so it wasn't until 2nd November 2003 that I finally moved in! It was all worth it IMO

Good luck!

Congratulations!

I bought my first place about a year and a half ago, and I still remember that wonderful feeling! I had actually lived with my Dad until then, so moving into my own place was extra special as I suddenly had space! Not to mention, my own kitchen, bathroom and, did I mention, space!

Ok, we've bought and sold once, and then bought again, while this doesn't make me an expert, I do want to warn you, it's usually a lengthy process, so be patient, and also, there will be "bumps" along the way (nasty red tape issues), but in the end, its worth every minute of aggravation. Even the happiest of occasions cause stress! Congrats though!

Stress i am beginning to understand. Everything is happening so fast that it's absolutely crazy. I feel like i'm stuck in a tornado!!!
And no one is answering their phones!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! I know how exciting it is. We just moved last March and from January 30th 2004 to March 12 2005 we actually owned 2 houses since we bought and our house didn't sell as quickly as we had hoped and therefore didn't close until March 12. The good part was that we had almost 1 1/2 months to do renovations on the house we bought. (We're still renovating - LOL. My husband does things slowly but very, very, very thoroughly and PERFECT.)

If you have a good personal banker and real estate agent, it will go quite easily. Usually your real estate agent can suggest a lawyer for closing and your personal banker will work with you and the lawyer. Even having to get a "blended" mortgage was very easy with our banker helping us get the paperwork together.
