I am 99% sure my Bengal Zeke ate a bee. He was playing in the grass on his harness.

I will run him to a ER vet if he is acting sick in any way, but is there anything specific I should be looking for besides trouble breathing?

Thanks,

Bobbie

If he is acting normally, breathing OK, eating and drinking, do not worry. It won't poison him and as long as it did not sting him as he ate it he will be fine.

Hi, you are so lucky (believe it or not) because I was walking my beautiful Shadow one day (yrs ago... he's long gone) and a big b-bee got him right on the nose. I had to knock it off and then get the stinger out, but it hurt him so much that he just stood there for 5 mins. and didn't move. I felt so terrible! He was ok otherwisde afterward, but I wished I could have prevented it.

Cats can get stung and not swell up. But if they are allergic you will know soon. They will begin to swell, they will become lethargic, they could drool and have shortness of breath. You can give them part of a benadryl pill while on the way to the vet's. My kittens attack bees all the time, so do the puppies. So far, they haven't had reactions.

We had a kitten way back in 96' that got stung on the tounge by a bee and had a very bad reaction. You would definitly know if your kitty had a reaction

Yes, you will know if they are having a bad reaction to a bee sting! I had a cat catch a bee in her mouth(that was inside the house) and then insanely ran around trying to get it out. It stung her on the roof of her mouth, and she immediately started having trouble breathing, her temp became very hot with a fever, and she was foaming at the mouth. Then she became very weak and lifeless. I ran her to the vet where she stayed for 4 days. After that she never even chased flys around anymore!

I agree that you would know it by now if your kitty was allergic in any way (although you dont know if he actually got stung, so you can't definitely rule out that he's not allergic to stings)... Ollie's strickly indoor so he's never encountered a bee, but my dog has gotten stung twice while trying to imitate a frog... once on the ear and once on the lip, both times, she swelled up but had no other reactions and the swelling didn't hinder any vital functions... sounds like your guy just got a nice snack out of the ordeal, but always keep an eye while he's outside in case he is stung sometime and is allergic
