Hi All,

Well I just adopted my first cat from a shelter and he is beautiful. He's a lovely silver chinchilla cross with huge green eyes. I'd post a pic but he's still settling in and don't want to frighten him with a camera.

He's already decided thought that my lap is the best spot in the house which suits me fine since it's winter here and I could do with the warmth...
The shelter named him Hamlet and I think it works so I left it at that. He comes straight out of his hidie-hole whenever I am near for a cuddle and a pat.

I have no idea how he came to be in the shelter or even how it was possible he was there for 3 weeks without getting adopted. He is a real stunner. But I'm positively delighted he was overlooked and there when I came along.

Cheers

Welcome to TCS, and congrats on your new cat.

I foster kittens, and have always been amazed at how people decide which animal to choose. Some Saturdays, there is one cat or kitten that I find to be absolutely gorgeous, and it will be overlooked for what I think is a very common looking cat. Other times a cat or kitten and a person seem to bond immediately, and it is clear to all that they are meant to be together!

Sounds like a great kitty, if he loves your lap! That is the best kind to have!

Welcome and congratulations on finding such a beauty. I feel the same way about our Carly. She is the sweetest, beautiful cat and I could not see how anyone could give her up and overlook her in her little cage. But then I figured that these special little ones are just destined for us and fate had its way with us.

Look forward to pictures of your little prince.

Hi and welcome to TCS! I know why Hamlet wasn't adopted. He was waiting for you and didn't turn on the charm until you got there
Look forward to seeing some pics. He sounds really beautiful.

Welcome to the site! When Hamlet settles in you must post a picture of him. He sounds gorgeous

I agree with previous posts, it's all in the eye of the beholder. I was certain that someone would pick my little Megan out of the litter our Mama cat had, but she was the one that we got to keep in the end !!!!
