I'm so excited! I taught Annie her first hand signal! I taught her "no!" When she does something wrong, or goes somewhere she's not supposed to, I wave my finger at her sternly, and she knows it means "no" now! Everytime she'd do something wrong before, I'd go my hand gesture, and then pick her up and give her a very light "spank" and she eventually learned that it meant "no!" Now, when she does something wrong, I can do that, and she knows to stop.

Next, I'm trying to teach her "come." What I'm doing it using a closed fist as that hand signal. I read on a website that it can simulate a cat's head, and the cat will want a head-butt. I'm trying to teach her, by putting my hand out like that, and then giving her a treat, which is her daily dose of vitamins. She loves her vitamins. It's a vitamin paste called FeloVite II. Anyway... hopefully that'll work.

I'm just so excited that I taught her one! It may not sound like a big deal to everyone else, but it sure is for me! It's one step closed to training her to respond to sign language!

Oops... sorry mods... I thought it might be behavior, but I didn't know where to post it.

I mean, just when she does something she's not supposed to do, like climb on the tables, or go into the cabinets.

Hi, can I suggest something? The hand idea is great, but try sort of cocking it in the direction you want him to go... they understand that when you do it with your head, like a person would, so I wonder if it would work with your fist. Good luck.

Yeah... we kinda do that, but probably could do it better. Thanks!
