Thought it may be fun to find out what motivates us when naming our cats....

My big guy is named Doc ( After Doc Holliday because Tombstone is one of my hubby's favorite movies )
The little guy, Samich is so named, because, well he looks like he needs a samich....

Willow was named after the Pussy Willow tree (because in spring, the leaves are covered with soft grey fuzz, and Willow was the same color as that fuzz when we got her). Buffy was named Buffy simply because we went a month without finding a name that suited her (nothing fit, the best was "Kitty"). Eventually mom and my sister told me to go with Buffy, since "we already have one character from the tv show [Buffy the Vampire Slayer] and "Buffy" would make a perfect fit!" So we went with Buffy, and she ended up fitting her name to a T (she's exactly like the Buffy in the show, except she doesn't have any fashion sense and thinks it's fun to get dirty)

Cairo because her face looked kind of Egyptian with those beautiful eyes and ears.

Sunday because we got her on Sunday

Sashka because it means to spring in Russian, and she's a Russian blue, and does spring around the house like a little coil!

When my mom and I saw Taffy at the shelter and adopted her the shelter named her Miss Tina but when we got home I got on the internet and looked up cat names and what they meant. We cut the list down to two or three names and Taffy was one of them. We decided that she has colours like a Taffy (Toffee) black , orange and tan and she is sweet like a Taffy apple and that's how we named her.
