I cannot wait to add live rock; that'll hopefully happen in a few weeks once we get the tank cycled. I think the live rock is more expensive than most of the fish!! I've never been to ReefCentral, so thank you so much for that link
I'm already addicted!

Purity, thanks
We are adding one more damsel on Friday to continue cycling. I think we're going to add about 1 fish/week. Next weekend, I'll hopefully add our first clownfish. Ultimately, I'd like: 2 damselfish , 2 clownfish , 1 panther grouper (they are beautiful), 2 blood red fire shrimp , 1 or 2 red sea star , the 2 seahorses , and this other gorgeous fish we saw last weekend (can't think of it's name right now). I'd also like a pipefish pipefish or two. Guess I may need a larger aquarium one day!
hehe yes we have two clownfish Tito and Titette lol theyre both one sex right now so we dont know which is going to be which. The rule we've heard is the bigger turns into the girl so if so we've got the names right so far. You should actually have the live rock in already. It should be cycled with the tank. What kind of live rock are you getting? We wanted all Figi but ended up with a mix since we traded some corals with people and they left them on the rock. haha ReefCentral is great for information and everyone is really nice. Well most of them anyway.
Im pretty sure one fish a week is too fast. We've been told one a month, if that, so you don't shock the system. You're right though is it VERY addicting and soooo easy to want to buy tons of stuff at one time. lol John wants to get a Tang but theyre $50 for a baby!! :-o

The seahorses will be added in about a month or so, but I'll be updating on here every step of the way, in case anyone else is inspired to start a seahorse aquarium too
I have a coral reef aquarium. A little bit of advice. Seahorses are pretty delicate and I would let the tank cycle for way longer then a month before putting seahorses in. Be sure to test your water and make sure the amonia/nitrates and nitrites are at acceptable levels before adding any other live creatures.
One more thing. Those damsels are beautiful but they are very aggresive especially the variety you have in the tank currently. I would remove the damsel and take it back to the fish store before adding the seahorses or the damsel will torture and maybe even kill the seahorses. Good luck trying to catch that damsel with all that coral/base rock in there! That ought to be a story in itself

This mixture of fishes wont work. Dont put damsels, clownfish (all varieties except occelis and percula are way too agressive) and oh god no not a panther grouper in with pipefish and seahorses. Your seahorses and pipefish will not make it!
Here's a great tip for live rock. Buy a few pounds of lkive rock and then buy dry base rock from hirocks.com (they also sell on ebay) and add the base rock in. The base rock will become "live" within a few months and it is WAY cheaper!
here are some pictures of my tank. These are old pics though the corals have taken over-anyone want some xenia or capnella?

We love them too! lol They're growing out nicely. We haven't added anything lately, just letting things grow. I'll see about that trade and let you know.

Wow. All these tanks are amazing. I would love to start a salt tank but who knows the next time DH and I will have to move. Such is the military life.
I have 2 sucker fish... they were the only ones that survived the gross locak water. Next time I'll have to buy distilled.

Well, we added damsel #2 today (after testing to make sure our ammonium level was OK). If he lives past today (it's still sort of iffy during cycling), I'll name him Tyson (short for Mike Tyson) because he looks like a fighter.

With brother Rocket...

Tyson is a great new addition! I'll keep my fingers crossed that he makes it. Glad to see an update on that wonderful tank!! Have the drama queens noticed the new addition yet???

Take a wild guess where Cosette is right now

Eppie hasn't seemed to care too much about the aquarium as of yet. Once her highness wakes up from her nap, I'm hoping she'll enjoy watching the bright new addition

Well, it was a little bit risky adding another fish yesterday, but so far he is doing GREAT. He's eating all of his food (and most of Rocket's food
) and his color looks great.
We're not too sure whether or not he will be called Tyson or not. Guess we need to watch him for a few more days before naming him.
Cosette has DEFINITELY noticed the new addition. I kept hearing thumps all night from her trying to jump up on the tank
.

He's doing REALLY well, too. The first 48 hours are about the most critical when adding a new fish....we're on hour 44 now and he's wonderful- eating up a storm!

Didn't see any pictures
. Are you talking about freshwater or saltwater fish? That's interesting, though. It'd be neat to see how much brighter his color could get!
