DH and Meishka will meet Angel for the first time tonight

I know its the cat site but I'm quite excited to get my first dog... scared too. DH has give me the O.K. for the dog.... I think he's excited too. Its sad that he will be leaving for a year though. Hey, once he gets back the dog 'should' be house broken by then.

If anyone has Shih Tzu advice I'd love it. You can PM me if you'd like. I'm sure I'll need advice from someone and I don't want to tie up a thread with doggy stuff.

My best friend's sister has a Shi Tzu. I'll ask her about them for you

My sister has a Shih Tzu. She is crazy about her. Her's is a Tea Cup Shih Tzu, and she says it's the sweetest little thing.

CUTE. Angel is smaller than a normal shih tzu but she isn't exactly tea cup. She's smaller than Meishka. (Hopefully that will help Meish adjust )

I think the meeting went pretty well. Meish was sitting in the livingroom and we brought Angel into the livingroom and allowed her to sit on the ground. She's really calm and just sat there next to my legs. Meish just kinda looked at her "what the heck is that thing" was written all over her face. But she didn't hiss, growl or run away.... well, she didn't run away until Angel's boyfriend (who was here as well) barked.... then Meish realized what the furry things were. She was under the bed about 20 minutes then came back out. She sniffed us later and just layed down. I think Meish will do better with a calm dog than another cat. LOL

Beth....dont stress too much about it all. I'm sure Meishka will be fine. She will learn to accept Angel. I stressed alot about getting a dog, while I had 6 cats, but they all took to her tremendesly well because she was a pup. I have a Maltese cross and they are all best friends now!
Even, now, when I added my two new kittens in....they all get along extremelly well.

Maybe Meish will accept a pup more readily than a new kitten/cat....there are less terrertorrial issues/competion.....
