Glad I looked before I sipped . . .

. . . or I might have got a bit of protein with my margarita. And who knows what else!

I was at the computer with Purdy in my lap, reached for my drink, and there was a FLEA in it! Duh! I forgot to put the Advantage on Purdy after he came back from the groomers Wednesday night. And I let him outside today and yesterday. Guess who is going to get his flea medicine tonight!

I wasn't going to start letting the boys back out again with a weasle in the neighborhood, but both boys have acted so depressed that I couldn't take it any longer. Besides, the neighbor moved his wood pile where he'd seen the weasle before, plus he has been using the chainsaw to cut down a lot of the brush in that next lot, since he now plans to build a garage there. So hopefully with all the noise and human activity, the weasle has moved on.

Red Cat had his flea medicine last week. And I'm not letting Sheba, the bird-killer extraordinaire, out. I will give Sheba the flea medicine, too, though, as the boys or I could easily track them in to her.

But please, no more fleas in my booze!

I was at my mother-in-laws a few weeks ago and she's in the middle of kitchen renovations. I got a glass of water to take a tablet and after I swallowed looked down to see a dead spider in the glass.

Yikes!! I would have freaked out.

Reminds me of the time my aunt brushed her teeth not knowing a spider had crawled on it.

I once took a gulp of coke or pepsi and as the stuff was going into my mouth, I saw a black object go in. I gulped before I could spit it out. I don't know what it was, but there had been a huge fly flying around earlier that day...

I look on it this way (along with the occasional pet hair) ... it's just extra protein ...

Oh, BTW, TwoFatCats, at least you know that flea died happy!

Now he may not have died happy too. What if he was really a Jack Daniels sort of flea.

Well, the most disgusting incident of insect in food I've personally seen was about 20 years ago when my husband and I had breakfast in a fancy four-star restaurant in Mexico and my husband received

I bet the tequila acted as a disinfectant on the flea.... the drink was problaby fine!!!

I know where you are coming from... I once went out to a restaurant and had fruit flies in my margarita.... blech!

Ewwwwwwwww!!

Not a bug story, but just as gross. My friend's dad was sitting outside with a glass of beer and his brother saw a bird come by and do his business right in the glass (he had set the glass down for a minute). Before his brother could say anything, my friend's dad took a big gulp and swallowed what the bird had left!

I was eating golden graghams once, and I got to where I had one or two cereal bits floating in there and there was a big icky DEAD black ant! At least I didnt eat it but I was really really sad because the milk left in the bowl after golden graghams is really really good (and the cats luuuuuurve it)

YUCK.

I always look to make sure nothing is floating in my food/drink. O_O But thats cuz theres alot of spiders around.

You guys are cracking me up. I spent this morning vetting the twins and Niki. I purchased $150.00 dollars worth of frontline treatment for the grackels. I have never had a flea commit suicide by alcohol, dang that would be cheaper. What a great way to go.

That's pretty nasty...I found a dead ant in my glass once, and that grossed me out pretty bad. I hate bugs

The grossest thing happened last week.

I noticed an earwig on the floor (they creep me out more then any other bug) and I ran to get a Kleenex. Next thing I know Elle starts making her “I see a bug†crazy meowdle and then she gobbled it up I seriously stood there for almost a minute with my jaw actually dropped and unable to process what I just saw.

THEN, I told my boyfriend what happened and he chased me around the house with Elle in his hands trying to get her to give me a kiss! How rude!

I felt bad but she ate it before I could do anything. I looked earwigs up on the internet to make sure they wouldn’t harm her.. but I just pictured it still squiggling in her tummy

Ugh. What a cat.
