Help! Any ideas to stop mattress scratching?

Heres the problem:

Everynight when I sleep one of my kittens goes behind the bed and scratches at the mattress non-stop. It is SOOOO annoying!! He wakes me up at least 2 times a night, if not more. I tell him no and even spray him with a squirt gun, but nothing seems to work. I was thinking about spraying a citrus spray on the mattress, but I don't want to smell that when I sleep.

My other kitten always scratches on the scratch post, but he just can't seem to learn to do that. Any suggestions? Please help me!

Put some double back tape or aluminum foil where he scratches, that should work

Won't that make alot of noise if he tries to scratch it? I'll try it and let you know what happens.

LOL the aluminum might, but if you try the double back tape by itself, he probably just wont like the feel of it.
