I've got my heart set on a Coach bag, but lord knows there's NO way I could afford one! I've spent some time already looking at various outlets, on ebay, and on overstock.com to see if I could find authentic Coach bags with a hefty discount. I'm just wondering if any of you know of any great online discounts I could find on these awesome bags? Any suggestions at all?!

Once I get my heart set on something I can NOT get it off my mind! I've been thinking about these stupid bags for about 3 days straight now!
Someone help me!

A Coach outlet or a department store sale is your best bet. I wouldn't buy Coach from ebay or a discount website as the chance of a fake is just too high. (Though Overstock and Smartbargains are generally authentic, but I know at least one of them charges a restocking fee if you return.) Avoid any site with the term moda in it--I think these are all guaranteed fakes.

Thanks for the tips. I'd never heard of moda before, so that's great to know! I also didn't know about smartbargains! You're just full of great ideas. Thanks again!!

I have no answer for you, but it's funny because my niece's birthday was yesterday and she really wanted a Coach or Louis Vuitton bag. We spent the whole day on Thursday driving to different outlets and found NOTHING!!!!!

Good Luck on your search!!!

- I have used SmartBargains before and they are great!

I have bought many Prada handbags and wallets on Ebay...all were authentic. Big fan of Ebay! Before you make a purchase on Ebay, I would suggest checking the seller's feedback with comments.

Thanks you guys for the help! This is looking to be quite a frustrating process!! All of your ideas have been great though. Hopefully I'll get my long sought after bag one of these days!

Me too! When you decide to get rid of them they almost always sell on ebay again for just as much, too.

I'd suggest doing some research into the Coach brand before you buy anything online. Check out their website, and visit department stores that carry the Coach line. Check for "registration" numbers-I have a Coach briefcase (a graduation present from my grandfather when I got my graduate degree) and the registration number is stamped on the inside of the briefcase. But if you really want to avoid fakes, it's probably best to go through an authorized company outlet.

If you have a TJ MAXX store near by they carry coach bags for about half price. I have gotten two. It is never promised that they will have the same stock every time, so I go about once a week. If you luck out you get great bargins.

I agree I bought one of my Coach purses at TJ Maxx and the other at a Coach outlet store.

Personally I would never buy something like this on Ebay. I read a discussion board about fashion and when someone posts an ebay auction to ask if something is a fake, it almost always is. (These ladies are very knowledgable about telling the difference.) Some fakes are so good I've heard LV themselves couldn't tell it was a fake until it was ripped apart. Serial numbers mean nothing, receipts mean nothing (search ebay, voila, you can buy a receipt and a dustbag, no problem).

If you want to search ebay, just remember, if it's too good to be true, it's fake! Nobody would sell a "brand new, authentic" Coach or LV for fifty bucks. Also, if they have a whole bunch of the same type of item for sale, I wouldn't bid. More likely to be authentic if it looks like someone is cleaning out their closet, not making a living selling the stuff.

Also, if you're looking for LV, it never goes on sale and if it's anywhere other than an LV boutique, fake-aroo.

I've gotten my heart set on certain items before and just saved so much money a week from my paycheck/tips until I could afford it. I'd sacrifice coffee drinks and fast food, etc, if I could put back $50 a month for a $300 Coach bag. Those hobo bags are just waaaay too cute. Basically, if you put back $12 a week, you could get a bag in six months. TJ Maxx is a great place to look as well, as others mentioned.

Drink your coffee, eat your cookies, and forget that darn bag. It's just a bag, not worth sacrificing for, IMO.

I've had immense luck so far buying tons of Vera Bradley's on EBay. But for guaranteed authenticity at a good price, I, too, think your best bet would be an outlet.
Good luck chick and post pics when you find the perfect purse
