I've heard that clay litters can eventually accumulate in the cat's stomach from the dust they lick up, causing potential problems. Has anyone heard of this?

I've been using Arm & Hammer for years and years. The fragrance free formula with no problem.

I'll chime in too. I also use Arm and Hammer. But I use Easy Flush. It's great stuff, except that it tracks.

At the shelter where I got my Callie, they told me not to use clay clumping litters until Callie is over a year old. They said there are instances of kittens dying after eating it, because it gets caught up in their intenstines. So we're using Feline Pine for her, and I can't stand it (I'm a fan of clumping litters, while the FP pellets just disintegrate into sawdust when wet... can't scoop)

Has anyone else heard of this? My vet said she has never heard of a case where it actually happened, and other people I've talked to think it's a myth. I have no idea...
