Here's a neat little quiz to find out which religion your beliefs are closest to:

http://beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

Ok, I know that's not a good way of picking a religion but it's still interesting. The top ranking religion it gave for me was Unitarian Universalism. I actually had no idea what that meant. Seems like an interesting religion by the description.
It's also interesting to know that there are so many religions that share a lot of my beliefs.

I'm still not planning on converting and will continue to consider myself a Buddhist and/or Secular Humanist (even if that was only the 4th and 5th best choice according to the quiz).

Here are my top 5:

1. \tUnitarian Universalism (100%)
2. \tLiberal Quakers (96%)
3. \tMainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (90%)
4. \tTheravada Buddhism (90%)
5. \tSecular Humanism (81%)

The lowest ranking ones were Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox (with 10%). That part didn't surprise me.

Anyone else surprised with their results?

My top five were:

1. \tUnitarian Universalism (100%)
2. \tNeo-Pagan (98%)
3. \tNew Age (85%)
4. \tMahayana Buddhism (85%)
5. \tLiberal Quakers (82%)

Although it is interesting to note that number 6 was Hinduism - something I have been interested in for a long time.

I got:

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Secular Humanism (98%)
3. Liberal Quakers (87%)
4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (84%)
5. Theravada Buddhism (77%)
6. Neo-Pagan (70%)
7. Nontheist (70%)
8. New Age (61%)
9. Bahá'Ã:censor: Faith (57%)
10. Taoism (53%)
11. Mahayana Buddhism (52%)
12. Reform Judaism (51%)
13. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (51%)
14. New Thought (43%)
15. Orthodox Quaker (42%)
16. Jainism (41%)
17. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (40%)
18. Scientology (38%)
19. Sikhism (38%)
20. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (34%)
21. Jehovah's Witness (29%)
22. Hinduism (25%)
23. Orthodox Judaism (23%)
24. Islam (22%)
25. Seventh Day Adventist (18%)
26. Eastern Orthodox (13%)
27. Roman Catholic (13%)

I find it very funny that I was raised Catholic, and my whole family is Catholic, and that is the religion my beliefs have the least compatability with.

As far as the existence of a god is concerned, I am an atheist (with some agnostic leanings). As far as my 'philosophy' about life is concerned, my beliefs mostly come from secular humanism, with some influence from existentialism and buddhism.

Well, that was interesting. Here are my top 5.

1. Orthodox Quaker (100%)
2. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (96%)
3. Hinduism (91%)
4. Bahá'Ã:censor: Faith (87%)
5. Seventh Day Adventist (84%)

Though I am not much of a church-goer any more, I still align myself most closely with the mainline to liberal Christian Protestants, so this doesn't come as a big surprise. However, there were a number of questions that I wanted to say, "Well, not quite any of those," or "More than one of the above." Anyway, I'll have to check sometime what an Orthodox Quaker does believe. I have a feeling that there would be some things that wouldn't jibe with my beliefs at all.

Interesting, but like TwoFatCats said, some of the questions didn't have an answer that meets my beliefs. I would consider myself #3, a mainline to consevative protestant christian. I do attend services regularly, and try to live by my religious beliefs and teach them to my kids.

1. Seventh Day Adventist (100%)
2. Eastern Orthodox (99%)
3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (99%)
4. Roman Catholic (99%)
5. Orthodox Quaker (93%)
6. Orthodox Judaism (72%)
7. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (69%)
8. Hinduism (67%)
9. Sikhism (64%)
10. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (63%)
11. Islam (63%) ?!?

Interesting b/c I was born and raised in the UMC...but I definitely consider myself more spiritual than religious, so I reckon I'm pretty proud of the results (though I was SHOCKED that I wa 64% in line with Scientology...EEK
)

I'm all about the Unitarian Universalism:

Contemporary Issues:
The Unitarian Universalist Associationâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s stance is to protect the personal right to choose abortion. Other contemporary views include working for equality for homosexuals, gender equality, a secular approach to divorce and remarriage, working to end poverty, promoting peace and nonviolence, and environmental protection.
