What do you think of wheat litters?

Wheatgrass or Swheat Scoop are some litters I have found. I was using the dehydrated corn stuff but would like to try something else due to my cat's possible allergies. Do you think this is a good nontoxic choice for litter? Have you heard anything in particular about any specific brand? Thanks so much.

I use Sweet Scoop and the corn stuff. I find the wheat one is better dust-wise than clay, but still more dusty than the corn. However, the corn stuff was too light and freaked my cat out! So now I mix clay, wheat & corn litters together in a secret formula that makes my cats happy & keeps the dust down!

I like Swheat Scoop. I don't like the way the corn stuff smells. Swheat Scoop gets sticky, but it's just a little harder to scoop. I still like it the best.

I used Swheat Scoop one time. Perhaps it did not work for me because we have 7 cats and clean the boxes once a day. I found with all the traffic in and out of our multitude of litter boxes that the urine did not clump, it just dispersed throughout the box so the whole mess had to be tossed within a few days.

Right now we use this stuff in the bag that is clumping clay litter with miniscule cedar chips in it. The cats have no problems with it and it keeps the boxes smelling much fresher and clumps well.

I personally swear by Swheat Scoop, but I have found that putting a little bit of cooking spray on the bottom of the box helps a lot with the sticking. I just like the fact that it's non-toxic and biodegradable, but my two main concerns were my kitties' health and the litter being environment friendly, so I was willing to be slightly inconvenienced for these things. All in all, I love that litter. It's relatively inexpensive and easy to find around here as well.

Swheat is okay as long as you oil the litterbox first. Otherwise you will have clumps of pee-soaked litter literally cemented to the bottom of the box. But aside from that, I like it.
